Venom: Let There Be Carnage's mid-credits scene brought Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or a world very much like it). With that, the stage has been set for Venom to battle Spider-Man on the big screen for the first time since 2007's Spider-Man 3.
What many fans would like to know is whether that will happen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. With the likes of Doctor Octopus and Electro returning, there could quite easily be room to have Venom join them, though if that is the plan, we're a tad surprised it hasn't factored into the film's marketing at all. Of course, that could change with the second trailer as the villains are expected to be highlighted.
Talking to Empire (via CBR), Sony's Spider-Man Universe producer Amy Pascal played coy on the chances of that happening. "You know I'll never tell you that," she said before reflecting on the stinger we know Sony and Marvel Studios collaborated on. "But it was a lot of fun to do, and we love Tom Hardy."
It feels a lot like she's teasing us with that response, and we'd be shocked if Venom's presence isn't felt in a post-credits scene at the very least.
When ComicBookMovie.com's Josh Wilding spoke to Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis about a possible Spider-Man crossover, the filmmaker responded: "Who knows? We’ll have to wait and see. I think if and when it does happen, it will land at the right time, as a result, by not rushing into it."
We never expected to see Venom in the MCU, but if anyone can make it work, then it's Kevin Feige.
