SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Promo Sees Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin Issue A Dire Warning To Peter Parker

A new promo for Spider-Man: No Way Home has been released that sees an unmasked Green Goblin make it clear to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Peter Parker that no good deed goes unpunished. Check it out!

Despite Doctor Octopus being the focal point of Spider-Man: No Way Home trailers, it's seemingy become clear in recent weeks that Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin is the movie's lead villain. We've actually seen very little of what the Spider-Man baddie will be getting up to, though this new promo does tease what could be a deadly confrontation between Norman Osborn and Peter Parker.

No longer wearing a mask, the Goblin issues a dire warning to the web-slinger when he tells him that no good deed goes unpunished. Previous trailers and TV spots have indicated that Spider-Man clashes with Doctor Strange when he decides not to send these villains back to their respective worlds to die at the hands of their Spidey Variants, so perhaps that's what Norman is referring to?

We'll have to wait and see, but it's only fitting that the Green Goblin serves as Spider-Man: No Way Home's big bad considering his comic book history with the wall-crawler. Norman hating the MCU's Peter as much as the one who defeated him isn't hard to believe, though we can't help but wonder whether Spidey does something to earn the wrath of his maniacal Marvel Comics supervillain.

Take a look at the latest Spider-Man: No Way Home promo below:

"For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk," reads the new synopsis. "When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse."

Among the film's confirmed cast members are Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, J.K. Simmons, Alfred Molina, and Jamie Foxx. Based on the new trailer, we can now add Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans to that impressive list of actors (fingers crossed for Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield).

Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in U.S. on December 17 and in the UK on December 15.

@RegularPoochie - It's actually not obvious at all--the leaked photos of Garfield on set show him in the ASM2 suit which has the traditional gloves, not the ASM1 suit where the gloves are mainly blue. It's crazy how many folks have forgotten this.

I love that they’ve ditched any mask and are just letting Dafoe’s batshit lunatic face be scary enough on its own. Green war paint applied like Ledger’s Joker could have been cool too, like he’s trying to recreate the Goblin he is on the inside on the outside after his mask is destroyed, but I think no mask is probably the right call.

Not sold on the hoodie yet, creative way to do it, having him cover up his armour with street clothes (probably in hiding) and then have them destroyed and tattered, but Dafoe is a little old to be wearing a hoodie and it makes him look a little like a maniac dressed as a teenager.

I think a lot of people are setting themselves up for a massive disappointment. I have a sinking feeling that the villains and the "other" Spidey's screentime will be very limited. Just a hunch, but I don't think they'll be in the movie as much as people are saying.

Anyone else entertain the possibility that MARVEL is pulling a fast one releasing clips of an unmasked Dafoe and that he REALLY will be wearing a new Goblin mask/helmet during the movie itself???

@SuperiorHeckler - Leaks would show otherwise. I think the only alternative costume we're getting is damaged green suit, purple hood and black goggles

@SuperiorHeckler - Sony is doing the advertising (not Marvel).

I imagine it will show him in the older mask, unmasked, and the new mask, as they have all been in the trailers.

What it is with Sony and having to reveal basically the whole movie in tiny pieces before the premiere? Granted, this isn't TASM2-levels of bad in that regard, but it's still ridicilous.
