RESULTS: Here's The Live-Action SPIDER-MAN You Chose As Your Favorite (And It Was Our Closest Poll To Date)

We recently asked you, ComicBookMovie.com's readers, to cast your votes and choose the live-action Spider-Man actor you consider to be the best one. Well, the results are in, and this was a very close contest!

Only three actors have brought Peter Parker to life on the big screen in a live-action setting. First up was Tobey Maguire way back in 2002's Spider-Man. Two years later, he returned for the masterpiece that is Spider-Man 2, though his time as the web-slinger reached a disappointingly premature end when Spider-Man 3 wrapped up the trilogy in 2007.

That wasn't the best movie, of course, and a reboot of the franchise followed in 2012 with The Amazing Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield took over the role, but "The Untold Story" we were promised felt awfully familiar. Despite an oddly middle-aged interpretation of how a teenager acts (skateboards and Coldplay!), the actor did a terrific job and the movie was entertaining enough. The less said about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014, the better, but Garfield did his best.

With Sony desperate to return Spidey to his former glory, they turned to Marvel Studios for help. Then-relative unknown Tom Holland was enlisted to play Peter Parker in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, later reprising the role in Spider-Man: HomecomingAvengers: Infinity WarAvengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home

In 2021, all three Spider-Men united in the masterpiece that was Spider-Man: No Way Home

Earlier this month, we asked you to cast your votes and choose the live-action Spider-Man actor you consider to be the best one. Thousands of you chimed in over Easter weekend to make your voices heard and the results are finally in...and this might have been our closes vote to date!

In first place with 34.76% of the vote was Maguire, though Holland was nipping at his heels with 34.36%. Garfield webbed his way to third place, and was so close to his fellow web-slingers (he received 30.88%), we really can't take anything away from him.

It's fitting in many ways that this was such a close contest, especially as each of these actors has been amazing and spectacular as this iconic superhero.

Holland is expected to return as Spidey in a fourth solo movie for Marvel Studios and will likely take centre stage in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty too if recent rumours are to be believed. As for Maguire and Garfield, Avengers: Secret Wars might be where they swing back into action to put an end to Kang the Conqueror once and for all.
