SPIDER-MAN 4 Is Rumored To Feature These Two Major Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters - Possible SPOILERS

A very interesting Spider-Man 4 rumour is doing the rounds today which claims to reveal not one, but two major Marvel Cinematic Universe cameos we’ll see in the No Way Home follow-up. Check it out...

We may have gotten a new Spider-Man movie this summer with the amazing Across the Spider-Verse, but it’s still been far too long since we last saw the web-slinger in live-action. It’s been two years since Spider-Man: No Way Home broke box office records, but a combination of Tom Holland wanting a break and this year’s strikes have inevitably led to Spider-Man 4 being delayed.

There have been rumblings about what’s to come in the movie for a while; thus far, the most popular rumour is that Spider-Man and Daredevil will team up to battle the Kingpin of Crime, Wilson Fisk.

Today, scooper Daniel Richtman is reporting that Charlie Cox’s Man Without Fear will indeed have a sizeable role in Spider-Man 4 (at least in the current iteration of the script, anyway). ‘Ol hornhead won’t be alone, though, as it's said that Marvel Studios is considering adding Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man to the mix as well.

Now that’s a trio we’d love to see share the screen! Given Scott Lang's history with getting into trouble with the law and his history as a vigilante, perhaps he also chooses to stand up to Mayor Fisk?

As with any rumour, we'd advise taking this with a pinch of salt. It's become the norm for key MCU characters to appear in these Spider-Man movies, and while Daredevil is a big deal, Ant-Man will likely be even more attractive to Sony execs. It's also a chance for Marvel Studios to rehab the hero after Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania

"All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character," Holland recently said of his possible MCU return. "Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing."

"I feel very protective over Spider-Man. I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy," the actor continued. "So, I won’t make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character. If we can figure that out, I would be a fool not to put the suit back on again because I owe everything to Spider-Man."

"I love the character and the people I get to work with. So, I would love to tell another story, but I'll only tell it if we can find the right one."

Spider-Man 4 doesn't currently have a confirmed release date.

@WakandaTech- It will feature Spiderman & Daredevil stopping Kingpen from performing a heist against the NYC's coffers while all the staff are away for the Christmas holidays. Title will be Spiderman: Home Alone. Which is a double entendre, since all his family is dead and none of his friends know who Peter is anymore.

I’m not gonna lie I was fully expecting the rumor to say someone like Ms. marvel or captain marvel showing up. Seems like something MCU would do at this point

I’m glad it’s Paul Rudd antman if anyone.

Having a straight man like DD, and a jokester like Spidey together is a good mix. But then add in another jokester like Scott Lang? Hmmmm seems like a bit too much funny. I do love anything Paul Rudd is in though, so I'm down to see what they do. Though I can't help but feel there's probably a more suitable character to toss in as the third that plays off that dynamic a bit better.

Just give me a Spidey/DD movie. We don’t need Antmans annoying ass. 🤷‍♂️

I always liked the idea of DD being sort of a mentor to Peter as he transitions into his new role protecting the streets as Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman. Plus it opens up the possibility of him facing off with Kingpin on the big screen. The only issue is that they really need to give Kingpin some sort of “power-up” to warrant him and Spiderman getting into a physical altercation.

The one good thing that did come out of phase 4 was confirmation that Super Soldier Serum has been floating around the black market. With that being said, it would absolutely make sense for someone like Fisk to have spent a small fortune seeking it out in an effort to improve himself. Even if it’s an inferior version that’s either less potent/weaker or a version that only lasts for a set amount of time like Temp V from “The Boys”

I feel like Deadpool would be a better fit, that way you have the straight no-nonsense guy (DD), the jokey but still dutiful guy (Spidey), and then Deadpool is just pure chaos energy.
StSteven
StSteven - 12/14/2023, 5:30 PM
Eh, for as much as I love Paul Rudd and his Ant-Man, I'd rather have Black Cat as a third major character as she makes more sense and would fit in nicely as both a possible new love interest for Peter and that sort of "who's side is she really on" character for Spidey/DD. Plus, if they're planning on making this movie a street level Spidey movie then let's just keep it in NYC with NYC characters. Ant-Man is West Coast so it doesn't make a lot of sense for him to be there (unless he's living in the Avengers compound in upstate NY, but historically he's been living in San Francisco with his extended family so I don't see why that would change).
KennKathleen
KennKathleen - 12/14/2023, 7:11 PM
@StSteven - I like the idea. Kingpin sure as 💩 needs redemption for the Hawkgirl disrespect!
StSteven
StSteven - 12/14/2023, 8:46 PM
@KennKathleen - And just to flesh that idea out a bit more, @bkmeijer1 and I were having a conversation about this recently and a cool plot point could be that Black Cat could originally start off working for Fisk (possibly stealing things for him to use against his political opponent while running for mayor), but then she changes sides after Fisk gets elected and passes his anti-vigilante law due to her developing feelings for Spidey, and thereby becoming a vigilante in the process. It would also be a funny dynamic if she's all flirty with Spidey but isn't interested in DD and he gets salty about it because he's used to getting the chicks.

And the fact that Spidey first encounters her when she doing bad things for Fisk causes him to naturally not trust him when she switches sides. BUT it would be cool for us as the audience to not really be able to trust her as well (like from Spidey's perspective). Overall she could be a really fun character to watch if written well, and I don't think that the MCU has had a prominent character like that yet (and Spidey certainly hasn't encountered a female like that yet - but hell he's probably going to be in college so it's time to explore!).

And for the Scorpion fans, @BlackStar25 @Vigor, I TOTALLY see them paying off the Gargan tease with having him being Fisk's henchman. Like his big guy. Fisk probably doesn't want to risk getting his hands dirty if he doesn't have to, especially as he's running for/is mayor so it makes sense for him to bring in Mac and use him as his muscle. Plus, Fisk likely has the resources to give Mac his suit/powers, whereas JJJ realistically wouldn't (as in the comics) so it makes more sense for Fisk to power up someone who already hates Spidey to serve as his big bad. Think Khonshu/MK.
