Doc Ock Concept Art For Sam Raimi's SPIDER-MAN 2

Doc Ock Concept Art For Sam Raimi's SPIDER-MAN 2

For me, Sony have only produced one great Spidey film and that honor would go to Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2. What makes that film so good is the amazing performance of Alfred Molina as Dr. Otto Octavius / Doctor Octopus. Come see designs for his character.

In SPIDER-MAN 2, the latest installment in the blockbuster Spider-Man series, based on the classicMarvel Comics hero, Tobey Maguire returns as the mild-mannered Peter Parker, who is juggling the delicate balance of his dual life as college student and a superhuman crime fighter. Peter's life becomes even more complicated when he confronts a new nemesis, the brilliant Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) who has been reincarnated as the maniacal and multi-tentacled "Doc Ock." When Doc Ock kidnaps MJ (Kirsten Dunst), Spider-Man must swing back into action as the adventure reaches new heights of unprecedented excitement.

That third pic looks like Doc Ock's attempt at modeling.

He failed miserably

....I hope Japan is never allowed to do an animated adaptation of Spiderman featuring Doc Ock.

I love these designs, but the clankity design they went with was so much better. These will be great for the reboot, as they do look very different.

Raimi did such a good job with the first too Spidy films, and then Sony had to go stick there big nose in it and ruined Spider-Man 3 and any hope for another decent spider-man film

@McGee
Yeah because we all know how much Japanese animators love tentacles. That would make for an interesting take on the web-slinger... Lol

Huh, that's weird.

What @McGee said.

I mean, look at that last picture with the tentacle... so much Japan-level weirdness.

I've always really loved this movie and Molina as Doc Ock, but I go back and forth on if I like Spider-Man 1 or 2 more...

Don't feel bad, Jollem, I kind of like tasm2 also. It sucks people can't just not like something, they have to make everyone else hate it to...

I think I'd rank the Spider-Man movies:

Spider-Man
Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

The Amazing Spider-Man

Spider-Man 3

TASM 2 has one of the lowest ratings on RT (Critics and General Public) of any CBM in recent years not to mention the lowest of any Spider-Man Film. Kids always like the shiniest and newest movie to come out.

This movie is one of the best superhero movies out there. It would have been nice to see what Sam, wanted to do for the fourth movie.

IMO TASM 2 is the only CBM to get me emotional over a character's death so it gets major points from me for that.
Highflyer
Highflyer - 10/30/2014, 8:50 AM
@Dmon I don't think that's the case as I remember even kids sh*tting on Spider-Man 3 when it first came out.
