The Amazing Spider-Man 2 film is set to be arriving shortly onto Disney Plus, with a confirmed release date for sometime next month!

While it may not be The Amazing Spider-Man 3 that everyone is hoping for, fans of Andrew Garfield's short-lived Amazing Spider-Man franchise can expect to see The Amazing Spider-Man 2 arriving to the Disney Plus streaming service very shortly!

Because the distribution rights to Spider-Man are owned by Sony, both this and any adjacent projects such as Venom: Let There Be Carnage, were unable to stream on Disney Plus.

A confirmed release date for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Friday, August 11th of this year, was made by Fandom's Eric Goldman:

"'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' will be available on Disney+ in the US for the first time on August 11, joining the first Andrew Garfield movie, which is already there."

The Amazing Spider-Man film will be the sixth Spider-Man project to start streaming on Disney Plus, alongside The Raimi Spider-Man trilogy, Amazing Spider-Man, and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Disney Plus is currently still short of a few Spider-Man projects; these include: Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.

Suit was great. Spidey was genuinely funny. Spidey and Gwen were great. Web slinging was great.


Unfortunately it was also a few hours of total horseshit stacked around them.

Jamie Foxx in NWH showed he could be a [frick]ing badass Electro.

What a waste.

I don't see much point in putting movies that were in bargain bins on your streaming platform.

The entire idea of rebooting Spider-man in the MCU was due to how badly handled The Amazing Spider-man 2 was viewed by a lot of people. Now it feels like Disney is desperate to show any Sony Spider-man films because they generated so much interest with NWH.

All it does is remind people of when the films were of higher visual production quality than the garbage we've seen from Disney+ lately

@Scarilian - It's just a distribution deal. The film has to go somewhere. And it seems Sony -- and even Universal -- are striking deals with Disney for them to be the platform they reside. If you've noticed, other Sony-Marvel films have started populating D+, too.

I might watch this . . . again? I honestly can't remember if I watched it the first time around. I remember seeing Dane DeHahn looking crazy has the Goblin, but . . . IDK. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I was drinking a lot back then.
