When Idris Elba was cast in
The Suicide Squad, it was reported that he would be replacing Will Smith as Deadshot. Well, as cool as that would be, it also seemed like a pretty terrible idea as it closed the door on Smith's return and forced Elba to compete with a very well-received performance.
Since then, we've learned that writer and director James Gunn has written a new role for the British actor but there's been no word on who that might be. Until now.
According to Forbes, it sounds like Elba is going to be playing Bronze Tiger. The actor previously appeared in
Arrow when he was played by Michael Jai White but that was quite a few years ago. There's certainly a lot of potential for the character in this franchise and he has a pretty storied history with Task Force X.
He's also one of the greatest martial artists in the DC Universe, a member of the League of Assassins, and has something of a frenemy relationship with Deathstroke.
We'll see Elba kicking some butt in
Hobbs & Shaw later this summer but how would you feel about him playing Bronze Tiger in
