THE SUICIDE SQUAD's Post-Credits Scene Has Been Officially Released Online - SPOILERS

During an online watch-party for James Gunn's The Suicide Squad, the movie's post-credits sequence was officially shared online. Warning: If you haven't watched the film yet, major spoilers follow.

The Suicide Squad director James Gunn hosted an online watch party for the movie earlier this week, and the during the event, the film's post-credits sequence was shared by the Peacemaker Twitter account.

If you've seen The Suicide Squad you'll know why that is, but if not, major spoilers from this point on!

Towards the end of the movie, Bloodsport (Idris Elba) shoots Peacemaker (John Cena) in the throat as he's about to execute Ratcatcher II (Daniela Melchoir). At that point, we all assumed the upcoming Peacemaker spinoff would be a prequel, but we later find out that the unhinged vigilante had survived.

This scene finds ARGUS members John Economos (Steve Agee) and Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) being led to Christopher Smith's hospital bed, where they're told that he should recover after surgery. It seems Amanda Waller has assigned the pair to work with Peacemaker as revenge for them defying her during the battle of Corto Maltese, but what exactly do they want with the jingoistic Task Force X member? All we have to go on is that ARGUS needs him to help them "save the f*cking world."

Peacemaker will also star Danielle Brooks, Chris Conrad, Robert Patrick and Chukwudi Iwuji. Specific plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that the series will explore the origins of Cena's titular DC Comics villain/antihero, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.

Gunn is writing and directing the show, which was ordered to series last September. No official premiere date has been announced, but Peacemaker is expected to hit HBO Max next January.

@Nightwing1015 - It honestly didn't even make sense

How did the guy that was clearly bleeding out from the neck inside a collapsing tower survive like that? 🤨

Anyway I'm excited to see what Gunn and Cena bring with the show at least 🤷🏽‍♂️

Cannot wait for this. It’s rough because after seeing TSS a few times, I really craved that off the cuff irreverence that the movie projects so well and I wanted MORE comic book content that gives me similar vibes. That path takes me straight to DP1 and 2 and then Guardians 1 and 2 ( I actually like Guardians 2 better than the first film Solely because Guardians 1 plot was copy and paste get a stone for Thanos so he can destroy planet for me Avengers 2012 plot but instead of the great Hiddleston as your villain Loki we got stuck with dull boring Ronan). Guardians 2 is so weird lol and I personally would sell my right testicle for a rated R Guardians 3 (yes I know impossible). Guardians 3 is probably my most anticipated MCU film based solely on what Gunn did with TSS. I don’t think we get a movie like Gunn’s The Suicide Squad again any time soon. Huge props to Hamada for letting Gunn have full creative control over that film as it turned out to be it’s own beast, a [frick] you to test audiences type of film. Anyone worrying that Hamada is going to butcher Matt Reeves the Batman is out of touch. He gave Phillips and Gunn all that money to make THEIR pictures, not his, and the art is better for it.

@McMurdo - Bad take. TSS sucked. And GoG was far better than the sequel. To each his own tho. Sounds like you like the more ridiculous movies like my kid.

Yea, this really felt like the one unnatural part of the movie. I didn't even mind them bringing Peacemaker back because they'd already delivered on the premise tenfold, but this just felt like it was stiff on the concept side of things

Rough lol. James Gunns girlfriend isn’t a good actress and is already confirmed for this show. Also bummed of all the characters introduced we’re getting a Peacemaker series. Because Gunn was bored during quarantine and wrote a show about him.

After all the bluster about “no one is safe” in this movie I feel like the idea of having a scapegoat team to kill off immediately is an idea that works better on paper than in the film itself. We lose the B-squad (except Weasel so Sean Gunn can show up for another paycheck somewhere down the line and now TDK apparently.) Now we’re stuck with Peacemaker and really only lost Flagg and Polka Dot Man who will probably be brought back somehow due to being a fan favorite.

Off topic: Not sure why we need a Top Gun sequel 35 years later, but looks like you'll have to wait one more year. https://www.cnn.com/2021/09/02/entertainment/paramount-delays/index.html
