Snyder's take on our Man Of Steel without so much of Nolan's Help

Zack Snyder. The slowly up and coming underdog in the film business. He started off with Dawn of the Dead and gradually introduced to us his unique vision and out of this world imagination with the films to follow. I'm not here to talk about any of his movies but Man Of Steel. As many doubt his abilities due to recent films, i actually think this is the project that turn everything around for him. What do I expect from his take on the upcoming Superman feature?

Character Development and Imagination. Zack Snyder has a way of turning a small event into a major brain twister. He presents all of the feelings and emotions that each character is going through. Zack Snyder draws us in with his unique touch of realism with a splash of imagination. So how Is Snyder going to turn a strange visitor from Krypton into a symbol of peace and power? Obviously it's going to start with the origins and how Kal-El came to planet earth and the changes he made to become Clark Kent. I think the first act in MoS is going to focus on Inner Struggle and Confusion. This is where Snyder will make his money. The transformation itself is going to utilize the character development he has used in all his previous films. Just as he did with Rorschach in Watchmen and Babydoll in Sucker Punch, he showed us just how one person can grow and change emotionally.

Action. Snyder has one heck of an mind when it comes to his action scenes. The man expands what is one or two punches to a KO. In the past films, our Man of Steel has fought environmental threats and villains. Usually one or the other. With most of filming to be done on location, expect less CGI and more Location Action Scenes. What does this mean to us fanboys? Expect destruction and alot of fighting between both the environment and General Zod himself. (which poses more of a physical threat to Superman than Lex Luther). I dont expect too much Slo-Mo scenes seeing as how the name Nolan is attached. Nolan knows that it gets tiring after a while. In the first act i would assume more of an environmental threat slowly evolving into a physical confrontation towards the end of act 3 between him and General Zod.

The Tone of the movie. Bryan Singer followed in the same footsteps that was done in the Donner films in a way. Having no tights and changing the look of Superman into a more current state shows that Snyder wants to start fresh. It wont be as bright as previous versions as the shading and tone of his previous films have been grim and dark. With Nolan attached expect a darker more grimmer version of Superman as he has had to leave home for Metropolis, lost his birth parents and is now having to deal with his past and current conflicts. Which goes back to Character Development. Just as good ol Bruce Wayne has had much of a Inner Struggle, that same element will be brought into MoS.

Climax. The ending is what gets Snyder. Though in past films, he has closed all loose ends, he tends to leave the general audience in a blunt state of confusion. Snyder cant pull the "I'am going to mess with your mind" game on this one. That's not what Superman is about. He is one of the best well written and drawn out superheroes in the history of comics and film, not some puzzle to figure out. So he must leave him open like Nolan has done with Batman. End it with an open feeling to us, knowing that the hero still stands tall and is willing to continue protect the earth and people of Metropolis along with figuring himself out.

So what do you all think or expect from what could possibly be one of Snyder's best pieces of film created? These are just my thoughts, as I'am a huge Snyder Fan. Besides TDKR, this has got to be my second most anticipated film to come. As usual comment down below!!

well... Suckerpunch was all action and no 'meat' to the story. In the end i was disappointed, so hopefully he does something better with Man of Steel

Singer blows. Sorry, had to say it when I read that one little sentence mentioning him by name.

Other than that, great write-up. Hopefully the movie turns out nice...then again...it IS Warner Bros distributing it. I just hope the Nolan/Snyder teamup will be enough to finally- SUCCESSFULLY reboot Superman for a modern audience. Took 30 years to get him out of the 80's eta.

Lookin forward to Snyder's take on a post 9/11 Supes.

I actually love Zack Snyder's signature slow motion. It added a certain gorgeousness to the visuals in Legends Of The Guardians: Owls Of Ga'hoole.

Nolan would be a hypocrite if he doesn't let Zack do his creative designs the way he wants to, because Nolan asked Warner Bro's to let him do Batman the way he wants too.

This article does not make sense on so many levels. Aside from the fact that it reads like it was written by a 7th grader who skipped more than his fair share of English classes, we have gem-like observations like Zack Snyder being "the slowly up and coming underdog in the film business"? The guy has made 5 movies in 7 years and makes big budget hyper-stylized genre flicks backed by a major studio. Failing to see where the "underdog" element comes in nor the "slowly up-and-coming" part. Failing to see what small events he turns into "brain twisters". His movies dont twist nor tease the brain. They are loud unsubtle movies that smash the brain with their grandiose hyperstyle. They dont challenge in any way. Though a person who can barely manufacture a decent English sentence probably would find them brain twisting. Sorry. I was gonna fight you point for point on how this article either points out the obvious or just makes silly unwarranted observations but honestly it would be like throwing deckchairs off the Titanic. I appreciate your enthusiasm but this site needs to seriously be more discriminating about the quality of writing that they post in their articles. There are only like one or two decent writers on the site. It's sad cause the site is otherwise pretty cool.

my thoughts on jus his recent 3. 300 and watchmen were both graphic novles so yes, he maid those end because thats what happend in the novels. as for sucker punch, that movie lost me in so many ways. i had to keep thinking about it after the movie was over jus to try understand what jus happened before my eyes, which was his try at his own original idea...fail for me. but i did like 300 and watchmen and thought they were noth visually awesome nd stylized. as long as it's not his story, i believe this movie will b awesome
