"My inspiration for the music came from trying to celebrate all that is good and kind in the people of America's heartland, without cleverness or cynicism. Just from the heart," Man of Steel composer Hans Zimmer told Rolling Stone in a recent interview in which he also unveiled another full track (this one is entitled "DNA") from the soundtrack of Zack Snyder's highly anticipated reboot. ""I wanted the epic sound of the fields and farms stretching past the horizon, of the wind humming in the telephone wires. The music is less about the icon that Superman is and more about the outsider with extraordinary powers and his struggle to become a part of humanity." Check it out below and then let us know what you think.

In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

STARRING:

Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman
Amy Adams as Lois Lane
Kevin Costner as Jonathan Kent
Diane Lane as Martha Kent
Michael Shannon as Zod

RELEASE DATE: June 14th, 2013.

Wow, sounds very mythologically inspired. Powerful with a sense of wonder and mystery. Can picture watching MOS and listening to this soundtrack.

Not bad. I'll be honest, I like his discussion of the themes behind the soundtrack better than I like this track. It's decent superhero stuff, but like his Batman work it doesn't sound particularly distinctive to me. Part of it, I think, is that damn "tucka-tucka-tucka" beat that Zimmer seems to need in the background of every track these days. I suppose it's good for the suspense, but I think I might prefer a less "busy" sound.

Then again, it's just one track and I have little to no room to criticize a composer of Zimmer's calibre. Guess we'll see when it comes out.

@Shocker

How old are you guys? I've seen your comments a few times on this site, and the kind of attention your lacking from your personal lives is very disturbing (boarder-line serial killer territory) If this continues, I hope your hateful; unimaginative; boring, and constantly sad remarks will someday become funny (at least give us that)
By the way I appreciate both comic book companies. So there goes that theory concerning whether I'm here to protect DC/Warner Bros. They don't pay me a dime, and I haven't received a portion of the box office receipts/ stock options like some of the readers here think they do.

@theShocker

Lois Lane used to be a redhead in the comics. But your statement cracks me up because you Marvelites will accept what they did to the Mandarin but you have issues with a British actor and a red head!!

First off this is an amazing piece of music, everything I've heard so far for this score is amazing,much better than his batman work and in my opinion much better than the muddled score John Ottman put together for SR.

Secondly, good to see that people think Amy Adams is hot, so many people have been bashing her, and yes while she's not my first choice for the role,Amy Adams is one of the best actresses out there and she has a PHENOMENAL ass. Especially in "The Fighter" where she was a little thicker, man i could lose my face up in that for days.

Really ya'll need to get ya'll ears cleaned cause that is way more Inception than anything batman.
TheTank
TheTank - 5/13/2013, 2:29 PM
It doesn't sound like anything he did for Batman, aside from the heavy percussion, but thats a trademark of Zimmer. None of his batman scores had any real melody to it, this is utterly phenomenal and epic as all hell.
TheTank
TheTank - 5/13/2013, 2:31 PM
If the movie is as powerful as its score then we are in for one hell of a ride.

Tis ok. You hear one Zimmer track, then you heard them all. Not saying that he sucks. I have enoyed many of his scores outside of the TDK.

@JoeMomma

That looks like Isla Fisher to me.
BlackPhillip
BlackPhillip - 5/13/2013, 9:52 PM
And why do many of you keep saying, "The King has returned"?

What is he the "King" of? Is it comic book sales? Nope, Batman and Spider-Man have him beat there.

Maybe box office sales? Can't be that either considering that Batman, Iron Man, and Spider-Man have him beat there. And It can be video game sales since everyone has him beat there.

Emjeed - 5/14/2013, 12:38 AM
@TheHeat He's the King because he's the FIRST, the template,Original archtype. The Original gangster, The granddaddy of all superheroes. The one who's symbol is known the world over. The one who started it all, the one who inspired a generation and thought us that it was okay to use our imagination. hence, DC Comics, Marvel Comics and the rest. Yeah.. He's KING.. and he has RETURNED

@monkeyballz, you do realize that's not amy adams right?

BlackPhillip
BlackPhillip - 5/14/2013, 8:46 AM
@Emjeed,

Just because he is the first doesn't make him "King" though.
