MAN OF STEEL Director Zack Snyder Seemingly Responds To Henry Cavill No Longer Playing Superman
With Henry Cavill seemingly done with the role of Superman, the man who cast him - director Zack Snyder - has now taken to Vero to seemingly share his thoughts on the British actor's departure...
Despite claims to the contrary from Warner Bros., the signs are all pointing to Mission: Impossible - Fallout star Henry Cavill being done with Superman and the DCEU. Given what happened with Justice League last year and Warner Bros.' desire to move away from Zack Snyder's vision, that isn't really a surprise but it is massively disappointing and seemingly a significant mistake on the studio's part.
Regardless, just hours after the news broke, Snyder took to Vero to share a storyboard featuring Cavill's Superman. It's not clear whether this is from Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, or Justice League but this is clearly the filmmaker weighing in on what's happened in an understandably vague way. Interestingly, he captioned that with "It's not an 'S,'" a line from 2013's Man of Steel.
Snyder clearly wants fans to hold out hope for the character's future regardless of whether or not it includes Cavill. Then again, it could just be that he wanted to share an admittedly very cool piece of artwork but the timing is a tad suspect! What do you guys think? How are you feeling about the end of an era for the current iteration of Superman? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
