While the movie is my most anticipated of this year, the few things that worry me are goyer writing it and Cavill. From the 2 movies I've seen with Cavill in he hasn't impressed me. Immortals he was ok and the cold light of day he was absolutely awful. Though I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and put that down to the scripts he was working with and he does look great in the costume. Goyer is very hit and miss, while his good stuff like the dark knight trilogy and blade 1&2 are all fantastic he was working with other people for those movies like chris Nolan, Johnathan Nolan and del toro. his bad stuff like blade: trinity, jumper and ghost rider: sov are all terrible.

I'm excited for this movie. It's been a long time since we've seen a decent Superman film.

I didn't find his role in Immortals to be "larger than life" though. He was okay...I guess...but I was not overly impressed.

I thought Cavill was ok in Immortals too. He was one of the best things in that bad movie. He was awful in The Cold Light of Day, but just like the rest of the cast - maybe not Sigorney Weaver, she was not bad, but completely in auto-pilot.

But I certainly put the blame on the scripts, poorly written characters and mediocre directions of those movies.

He was great in Woody Allen's Whatever Works - although it wasn't a big role.

And I've just seen the first season of The Tudors and he was awesome in it too.

So I totally believe in his acting skills, specially because he has the natural look and feel of Superman.

He is going to be ok I think but I would like to see his flying style Brandon routh did not had it.

I thought Cavill was pretty good in The Tudors (TV Series about King Henry VIII; If you havent seen it, I highly recommend it). He wasnt that good with Cold Light Of Day but he wasnt that bad either, and Immortal was weak but I think that was more a fault of the director and script. The dude definitely has potential and I do believe this is where he will shine.
