spot on here. hardest part of getting bigger is keeping your ego in check and not show any sign of arrogance. last thing you want to be is "satisfied" with your body when you havent met your goal. it'll hit ya like oh yeah im more fit than most of these guys but you gotta remember to stay humble and not look like a dick lol

I hope he gets bigger for the inevitable sequel, or JL, whichever comes first.

This is why Cavill was born to play Superman. He gave a very Superman-like answer. Staying humble even though you are more powerful than others around you.

This guy is perfect, can't get anyone better for this role!

I hope Chris Evans gets back into that shape he was in for CA. I was EXTREMELY disappointed with him in Avengers. Not only f*cked up continuity and looked stupid in his costume, but he took away the eye candy!! lol

I've got huge respect for any actor that's so committed to a role that he/she transforms his/her body.

Henry Cavill for Namor.

^ I remember someone on here (can't remember who!) suggested Jonathan Rhys Meyers for Namor. Ever since then I can't think of anyone else who would be a better fit.

Best. Superman. Ever. I'm calling it, I got nothing but respect and love for Christopher Reeve, this takes nothing away from those performances. They will forever be the iconic original Superman. But this modernization of Superman is so needed and by all accounts is so well done I think for me this is going to be the best version of Superman ever.

Plus, Henry Cavill is the PERFECT guy for this role. Such a well-spoken, down to earth actor.

The transformations that still shock me the most were from Bale from American Psycho-Reign of Fire-Equilibrium to Machinist to Batman Begins and from Rescue Dawn to Dark Knight. Ridiculous to be able to starve one's body two different times and then rebuild it into a powerhouse of muscle.

I don't know if it's the way he is walking but I always feel like dude has shoort arms in those pics. Kevin Willis like

Wow, he sounds very down to Earth and seems very humble. I really like that aspect about him. He seems to embody Superman in more ways than just on film.

@rfbn04: ah the ever skepticism member has arrived. You quite building a name here sire ;p

Oh yeah he sure aint need one, if he does, then why there are so many incarnations of Supes? They should just stick to the Golden Age era version of Superman then.

^^^^ your probably right.... When cutting for fights I use the paleo diet. I walk around at about 170 about 12 percent body fat but when competing for a bjj tournament, smoker match or mma fight I cut to 145 and only eat meat, egg whites, nuts and drink a ton of water. It sucks but it gets me lean to about 8 percent body fat on a 145lb frame.

Yeah, but it will probably all look good on film. Thinking of how they made Thor look in the below shot. He looked like a giant.

Bale is definitely the king of transformation, but you gotta respect this guy for putting in the work. Imo increased testosterone does wonders for my attitude and sense of well being, which is pretty much what the result should be for anyone. Of course, if you're a dick you'll probably be a bigger dick but I don't think anyone gets magically transformed into an asshole from working out/training. You kind of have to already have that proclivity. If anything, increased confidence and sense of well being makes me a nicer more sociable guy. I even stopped murdering people for no reason :)

thosemortalmen - sure, let's make Superman badass, and dark, and tortured...

Seejay - I don't think he actually have short arms. But, everytime I see those pics it kinda bugs me.

IMHO being paind millions, having a trainer, personnal chef all paid by the studio makes this whole getting in shape for a movie thing not as impressive.

Starving to lose weight tho, that's another story

its actually pretty easy to bulk back up if you've been that big before. its what all these "models" on those exericse commercials do for their before/after shots. theyre all fitness junkies then get fat. work out for 90 days or whatever and theyre back to their "normal"

@Mmasoldier

I feel ya man, I'm on both the football and wrestling teams at my highschool, so while I'm playing on the line during football I have to bump from walking weight (200) to 225, then I have to drop to about 195 for wrestling (which is I am doing now), and on one ocassion 180 (which sucked).

Oh and for everyone else I'm new here so sup.

I wish I had the time to be able to get sculpted like that..at least working 12 hour days at a paper mill keeps me in shape. Can't wait for this to come out! Hopefully we'll get a superman movie in true form.
