In the pantheon of superheroes, Superman is the most recognized and revered character of all time. Clark Kent/Kal-El (Henry Cavill) is a young twenty-something journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond his imagination. Transported years ago to Earth from Krypton, a highly advanced, distant planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question 'Why am I here?' Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Diane Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Kevin Costner), Clark discovers having extraordinary abilities means making difficult decisions. When the world is in dire need of stability, an even greater threat emerges. Clark must become a Man of Steel, to protect the people he loves and shine as the world’s beacon of hope – Superman.

Man Of Steel will be with us June 14th, 2013.

I think a lot of people did not like Supes because he was out of date! Now that they updated him he is a beast....

I have nothing against DC, just never cared for them or Superman, but this looks like it will be one of the greatest films. like, ever.

I've bought 9 tickets for MoS....on day one I will go along with my 7 normal tickets - sit in the middle and enjoy the movie without any smelly mouth breathers to bother me on either side. I want to see the audience reactions.

The Next day I will go with the Missus and the 2 tickets for the super premium 'Gold Class' Hall - the one that has those fully reclining lazyboy kinda seats.

Then I'll probably watch 2-3 times more before it goes off.

This will fully exorcise my Christopher Reeve cheesy movie demons. Finally there will a mature themed Superman movie I can place by a mature themed Batman Trilogy.

Now everyone will have a version to suit them and hopefully be happy... yeah, probably not!

Can not wait to see this! I'm really curious about were this will end up on the top grossing films of all time list.

My best guess... #4 or #3. Hold on tight Avengers!

Saw it last night at the screening here locally. The trailers don't even break the surface on how incredible this is. I'm pumped for more of you to see it and hear your thoughts!

Btw, the anticipation for this film must be at an all-time high, not just for us comic fans. The screening last night had people who'd won free passes lined up and wrapped around the theatre, none of them guaranteed seats. Some had lawn chairs and had camped out since 11am in the morning...for a 7:30 showing!
Earth69
Earth69 - 6/5/2013, 6:16 AM
@SupermanEchols - Are the flashback scenes well implemented?. I always worry that flashbacks might take you out of the story a bit.
SupermanEchols
SupermanEchols - 6/5/2013, 6:25 AM
Eart69 I was just telling somebody how fluid I felt the story was. Superman The Movie had very distinct periods in the film; Krypton, Smallville, then Daily Planet. This movie doesn't play it in stages, but works as one continuous narrative and the different recollections of the past feel natural, not forced. It is a suprisingly emotional film too. I can't say enough GREAT things about it.

I actually agree with you @Grif! The National Guard spent $11,000,000 of our tax dollars to be a partner/advertiser with this movie and that's the bullshit line they put in there? What an embarrassment, won't ruin the movie for me though.

Me neither though I don't like the line anymore than you and Grif do.

@SupermanEchols no spoiler wanted but I am curious if there is an after credits scene or if when the credits roll we can leave
