Max Landis Pitches His MAN OF STEEL Sequel Idea Featuring The JUSTICE LEAGUE

There's been a lot of talk about a Man of Steel sequel recently, with conflicting reports about if and when it's happening and what it will include when it does. However, Chronicle scribe Max Landis has a very interesting take which would see Superman battle the Justice League...

In the video below, Max Landis reveals what his take would be on a Man of Steel sequel. It picks up straight after the first movie and obviously doesn't take Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice into account, but it makes for a very interesting watch. Here's the gist of it though; the sequel would have picked up with a Clark Kent who has given up being Superman (now widely despised by the public) because he's suffering from PTSD following his battle with General Zod. Before leaving Metropolis for good, Clark has one final assignment for The Daily Planet: interview Lex Luthor.

Following the reveal that the billionaire knows that Clark Kent is Superman, Lex (Tom Hanks) would offer to repair his damaged reputation in return for the hero capturing the world's most dangerous metahumans. Despite warnings from Batman, Superman rounds up the likes of Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Arrow, and Martian Manhunter, only to then discover the villain's true plan; he wants to assemble a team of superhumans to take over the world. Sounds pretty cool, eh? Oh, and James Cameron would direct the film! Listen to the full pitch by watching the video below.

I'm happy he wants Martian Manhunter in the film. I personally see Tom Hanks more as Jay Garrick though. I could see James making an awesome movie, but I only see him working on the film if he has complete say.

That's not great. Superman caring about his reputation ? Batman always the one knowing something's wrong ? No thanks.

I'm sorry but Max Landis needs to stop talking about these dream pitches and what not and start doing some more relevant work.

I hate this pretentious douche so very much. Does he actually think this shit out,or does he make it up on the spot? Better yet, why does he think any of us CARE what he thinks is a good idea? He is not the arbiter of all things cool and nerdy in Hollywood.

I actually liked it. If it wasn't directed by James Cameron and was still set in the DCEU, I would actually really like to see that.

this sounds sooo bad. like over the top bad. and also has no originality: hero gets manipulated by bad guy. hero is told not to trust bad guy, but doesn't listen. hero finally realizes he's been duped and beats bad guy. end. by the time the video was over i came up with a far better story. I'll admit that the guy is passionate, but he is a total hipster that is a glorified fan fiction writer.

Yeah, I really like Landis, I'm definitely checking out "American Alien" and American Ultra was awesome, it's just not a film that's very box office or critic friendly

I'm surprised that he used this pitch for MOS 2 because he came up with this off the top of his head on "Movie Fights", cool stuff though
