Michael Rosenbaum Wants To Be The Villain Of The Story Again

With the reports having Henry Cavill exiting the role of the big blue boy scout could possibly mean Eisenberg's place is in jeopardy?

We still don"t know if Henry Cavill will put on the suit again, but the reports of him leaving the role and Ben Affleck most likely won't reprise his role as the caped crusader and the movies not being well received could lead to other actors getting recast.  Actor Michael Rosenbaum who played Lex Luthor in the TV series Smallville responded on these reports and made a humorous comment about Jesse Eisenberg who played the character in BVS.
Even if Rosenbaum doesn't reprise his role there could still be an opening for him in that streaming service DC is ready to launch. There will be original content as well as past tv shows, movies and animated series. There's also a possibility Smallville to return as an animated series. Rosenbaum and Welling mentioned that possibillity at AwesomeCon.  Here is what they have to say:

"I mean animated could be fun," Welling said.

"I said to Al [Gough, Smalville co-creator], we should do an animated Smallville," Rosenbaum replied. "That would be huge! I mean, Smallville: The Animated Series, with all the real voices? And I wouldn’t have to shave my head! We’ve got to do that. Can you imagine us on mics doing the same dialogue?"

Kristin Kreuk was also open to the idea of Smallville to come back as animated series when she was asked.

"Yeah, absolutely," Kreuk said. "I've never thought about it, but that sounds like it could be a lot of fun... Michael wouldn't want to shave his head again, I'm fairly certain. But yeah, that would be a lot of fun. I haven't seen those guys in a long time."

What do you think of Smallville returning as an animated series? And would you like to see Michael Rosenbaum to DCEU as Lex Luthor or you would prefer someone new?

Rosenbaum's Lex was easily the best character on the show.

@minusman - Lionel Luthor was easily the best character on the show

@Knightstar - I was speaking in terms of acting ability- Rosenbaum raised that bar for all the other actors and did a great job portraying someone torn between who they wanted to be and who they actually were.
I thought Lionel was a bit too one dimensional, although he did have some great moments.

@Philvis - She's probably stuck in traffic, so I don't think she has any interest right now

@Philvis - I assume you are aware, but just in case not... she’s been in some legal trouble over an alleged involvement with an unseedy organization.

Rosenbaum seems like a cool guy. I always enjoy his podcasts and check em out when he has a cool guest.

I thought he grew sick of the role, and that’s why he left the show and made them kill off his character using a stand-in actor in season 8?

I think he has the chops for the big time as Lex. His monologues in Smallville were impressive.
