Nicolas Cage's Superman Dream Is Dead

Nicolas Cage's Superman Dream Is Dead

Nicolas Cage, known to geeks as the guy from Ghost Rider and Kick-Ass, has made it clear that he has no interest in pursuing Superman anymore.

Nicolas Cage was originally cast as Superman in a dead project focusing on the character titled "Superman Lives", that Tim Burton was originally set to direct, which would have featured Superman looking the same as that top picture.

Contact Music claims that at the premiere of his new movie "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", Cage spoke to WENN.com, who mentioned the fact he was at one point set to be Superman, and he replied, sighing: "No, I think my Superman days are over."

Although this is not breaking news or anything, I found this to be pretty good news for most of us here (including me). So, Cage will never take up the red cape of Superman!

I admire his fandom for Superman...but the sheer idea of Nic Cage as Superman makes me SICK to my stomach. When will he ever understand that he's too old to play a superhero...nobody even wants him in comic book films. Oh well...

I never thought superman was a nic cage role, but I dig him, great talent , especially in port/call new orleans, and I like him a ghost rider .

I am so glad we dodged that bullet this could have ruined Superman more than Batman and Robin ruined Batman.

Thank God for small things. I love Cage but he wasn't right for Ghost Rider as Blaze but what do I know?

If the Cage/Burton Superman movie would have taken place, think about where comic book movies (in general) would be right now. There is a great possibility that this nightmare would have turned major studios against the whole idea of comic book adaptations. Dodged a bullet indeed.
