For
Indifferent but anticipating the best.

Jon Hamm can be snagged by Snyder easily. He's in SuckerPunch and a fan fav.

I'm really not too sure WHAT tho think at this point. I have got to remain posative. Just as long as Zack doesn't try getting overly "artsy" with it and try's to stick to a more real type of atmosphere (aka Nolanesque") than we may have a movie. All I know is --- Superman is overdue for HIS turn at a proper awesome movie and to be able to enjoy the Hollywood spotlight for a while.

i would have liked somebody like Duncan Jones or James Mctiegue but Snyder it's just ok.
It could have been a LOT worse, and I'm thinking of Chris Colombus when I say that.

seriously, enough with casting john hamm for superman, he is too old to play him.

either Routh or Welling will suffice and I'm pulling for Routh

Snyder baby. i have no concerns about snyder as i have loved everything hes done. hes in my top five directors list and hes up there in the top three. visionary masterpiece maker 1. Ridley Scott 2. Zack Snyder 3. James Cameron 4. David Fincher 5. Tony Scott BOOM THERE IT IS!!

In an interview, Jon Hamm said so himself that he was too old to play Superman so i don't see that happening, ever.

And I don't care who directs it I just hope they don't use lame ass villains again, or ones they have used enough like Zod and Luthor. Zod is cool but between the movies and Smallville haven't we seen him enough? How about some of the other (and more badass) villains? Unless it has either Darkseid, Metallo, Brainiac, Mongul or Parasite in it then why bother?? They keep using lame villains that make for a boring movie, like Superman Returns where he didn't even throw a punch the entire movie, he just got shanked by Kal Penn and cried alot!! Use a villain worthy of the man of steel for once! Or don't waste our time!

This is the best decision WARNERS/DC has made
since Nolan chose Heath for that certain insane
in the membrane clown!

Please Snyder make it a manly-man Supes and Lex
only as a background character. Choose a foe who
can actually kill Clark!

No Chris Reeves look-a-likes! That means no Routh
unfortunately! This is a reboot, a new beginning.
Choose someone who looks like the very-tall, beefy,
Superman of the comics, please!

After watching Zowie Bowie's "Moon" I wanted him to direct this, but Zack Snyder, is a pretty solid choice, better than Chris Columbus, that's for sure. I just really want this to not be a Donner lovefest, that would be good for a change.

zack snyder-his the man for the job.

how can you say no to him, take a look at 300 & watchmen.

i'd would of like to seen jj abrams do it,but that keeps jj abrams free to do a marvel film maybe something like nova or annihilation.

zack snyder is perfect.

@Superguy1591- Man I'm surprsed you haven't commented on the article where Zack Snyder publicly stated himself that Brandon Routh's time as Superman is finally over! hahaha i commented on that shit for sure! hahaha

I'm all for Zack Snyder bringing Superman BACK TO LIFE.

NO MORE ROUTH NO MORE SINGER and on to a BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR THE MAN OF STEEL!!!!!!

Routh and Singer by far were the cross that Superman has had to bear for the past 4 years...well it's all over now for our big blue boyscout. SNYDER TO THE RESCUE!

@Superman8- hey, read the article where Zack Snyder confirmed that Routh IS NOT EVER GOING TO RETURN AGAIN AS SUPERMAN. haha

Finally we get a NEW Superman.

I was initially a bit apprehensive about it. But now, I'm quite excited. If he can tone down his style a bit (that includes the slow-mo), give the movie heart, pump up the action, but keep powerful moments like Rorschach's death scene, we're in for a treat.

But if he uses Doomsday, we're f*cking done, professionally.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 10/5/2010, 3:35 AM
For. Watchmen was amazing so I'm glad we'll have a director who has a track record of making great movies! Can he make his style work for Superman though? I'm not sure, but at least we'll have something that's probably action packed and faithful to the comic books...[frick] you Bryan Singer!!!

And unless he's forced by the studio, I don't see a director like Snyder casting Tom Welling. I can't somehow imagine that the director of Watchmen is a fan of the teen drama on Smallville! :D
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 10/5/2010, 3:40 AM
I do however think that both him and Routh should be allowed to audition...you know, just to humour them! ;) Warner Bros best move would be to cast an unknown as Marvel did with Chris Hemsworth. And as great an actor as he may be, there is no way that Jon Hamm should get this because he's too damned old!
LP4
LP4 - 10/5/2010, 3:41 AM
@JoshW- I agree with you on that front- [frick] YOU BRYAN SINGER!!!!! His Superman came off as more of a 'villain' in my eyes.

I seriously hope Singer stays away from comicbook films...as a director at least. He sucks

seriously. not a good idea.
Protonite
Protonite - 10/5/2010, 3:59 AM
A big "MEH" for me. I'd much rather not have a 2 hour slo-mo fest. The effect is cool in certain select scenes, but becomes a borefest if it used in every action scene. But then again, it's better than hiring a complete tool like Singer, so.....
marvel72
marvel72 - 10/5/2010, 4:02 AM
@ teabag

lmfao,i had tears of laughter .

i can see welling jumping up & down on the spot & then snyder holding his hand over his mouth trying not to laugh & saying "what the hell are you doing" & welling replies whats wrong,we done that on smallville for the last ten years. :P
Denn1s
Denn1s - 10/5/2010, 4:17 AM
how can there be haters? snyder gave us 300 and watchmen, 2 of the best cbs to date. ok, maybe the slow motion is tiresome but the guy is amazing!
LP4
LP4 - 10/5/2010, 4:24 AM
@Protonite- Yeah that was my initial fear was about the slowmo being used too heavily. I think it should be used only for certain parts of the film, like when Supes is in the middle of landing a very powerful punch (like he did to Darkseid in JLU) but when it comes to close-combat, keep it fast pace =D

I just am happy that those tools Singer and Routh are no longer involved. They were the crosses for Superman to bear for the past 4 years. Now Superman is free and i bet you all those lame-ass "routhboot" supporters will start to get all happy once the new Superman actor has been cast.
InFamouslyCool
InFamouslyCool - 10/5/2010, 4:49 AM
i'd really like to see what routh can do in a GOOD movie. that failure wasn't his fault.

welling is not superman. never should be, and hopefully never wll be..
LP4
LP4 - 10/5/2010, 4:55 AM
@InFamouslyCool- Superman Returns sucking not being Routh's fault, is NO REASON for Routh to get the gig and certainly resembling Reeve is also no qualification for him to have been cast as Superman in the first place.

Routh can't act. He's not getting a 2nd chance and doesn't deserve it. So you and all the routhbooters please refrain from further routh-chants. It aint gonna work this time and I won't allow any routhbooters to ruin another Superman film.

As for Welling he deserves the role more than Routh in my opinion. Welling has been Clark for 10 god damn years. I am not in favor of either getting the gig but if I HAD to choose I go with Welling. But overall both suck (especially routh)
