"Smallville"’s upcoming Justice Society-themed two-parter has added another headliner. Exec producer Kelly Souders confirms that the highly anticipated episodes (titled “Society” and slated to air in early 2010) will mark the return of Phil Morris as Martian Manhunter.

Penned by comic book hero Geoff Johns, “Society” marks the arrival of Justice Society members Hawkman, Doctor Fate, and Stargirl. The abundance of special guest stars is what prompted Souders and fellow show-runner Brian Peterson to expand the episode into two parts.

“To be honest, there were so many characters and so much great story that people would’ve been robbed of some great moments if we kept it to just one hour,” says Sounders. “So now that it’s a two-parter, you won’t miss anything.”

@THABATMAN: Nightwing would be a great show, esp. with a good fight choreographer. Birds of Prey didn't really work as a Batman spin-off, though.

Watch those idiotic outbursts Brianj22.

And your nuts if you think you will ever see Batman on Smallville..do some research.

WW needs to be brought in but Cyborg needs to go. He belongs
in Teen Titans! Maybe they can do a Teen Titans
with Cyborg segueing into it with Nightwing and the gang!
That's the way I'd like to see Nightwing...as the leader
of the live-action Teen Titans!

Smallville is not on its last legs at all! Its doing
better than ever and everyone thought it would die in
the Friday night lineup! Friday has become Sci-fi-
Fantasy night for most of the channels on TV! I
for one love it! I'm a sci-fi/fantasy freakazoid! lol

I wrote an article about this about 3 weeks ago. About 3 comments
in someone pointed out that an article had already been written about this (by ozy I believe) so I deleted my article due to the sites policy about double post. Guesse I should have left mine up.

Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they scrap "Graysons" a while back?

OK...correct Variety if they're wrong...

@Brian: Sorry dude, but I'm going to have to agree with Ror on this. You say you've got contacts and sources and that you have this knowledge and have done "research", yet offer...none of it? Give us a bit of proof and I think we'd all be much more willing to believe your "opinions".

And I was under the impression from past articles on CBM that "The Greysons" was nixed by the CW. At least, I hope it was. I can buy "Smallville" as a stand-alone pocket universe of the Superman Mythos. But if you're trying to push Dick Grayson, the original Robin, as a vigilante BEFORE he meets Batman and has his parents brutally murdered, then...I just don't see it workin. Who knows though. They might pull it off. But I highly doubt it.
