Metallo Returning to Smallville

Metallo Returning to Smallville

Brian Austin Green will reprise the role of Metallo in the 18th episode of this season's Smallville!

In comic books, characters die and get resurrected all the time. So I guess it should come as no surprise that the same thing is happening on the comic book-inspired Smallville. After making a memorable appearance as John Corben/Metallo, the "Man with the Kryptonite Heart," Brian Austin Green killed himself by accidentally ripping out his own heart. Oops!

Never fear, Metallo will return, according to EW:

"Sources confirm to me exclusively that Brian Austin Green will reprise his role as the kryptonite-powered villain in this season’s 18th episode, scheduled to air in the spring."

@LEEE: Ha! I didn't "recognize" you with that new avatar. Yeah, he wasn't bad. It's hard for me to shake his 90210 persona, but I'm trying...

Just put Welling in the frickin' suit already! It's ridiculous! Supes was the first costumed hero, but in the Smalls universe he's the last guy to suit up! Come on!

Metallo did not "die" on Smallville, they covered that already so that they could bring him back. I forgot if it was Dr. Hamilton or on of Tess's people, but someone said that his body was so mechanized he basically just needed to be booted back up after having had his power source removed.

@Dr/ LEEE: lmfao. Can't talk though, my wife cashed in every "you owe me for sh#tty movies you put me through" last night when she had me go with her and her friends to see new moon @ midnight. About ten minutes in I wanted to swallow my own tongue. DAMN YOU SELF PRESERVATION!!!

As for Smallville I'm glad they're going to bring him back, one of the saving graces right now IMO.

@ Dr. Donald Draper:

Superman wasn't the first superhero to wear a costume in the comics... not by a long shot. The founding members of the Justice Society were around and dressing up while superman was still a kid.

But I still love the show and this seasons been allot better then most of the others...

And on another note, Im sick of hearing people say Smallville should be cancelled. Its pretty f*cking simple: IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SHOW, THEN DON'T WATCH IT! But don't say it should be cancelled, b/c some of us still enjoy it.

@Superman7: Yes, his origin has been retro-fitted to serve continuity, but he was THE FIRST SUPERHERO EVER, in terms of actual comic book history. I think you get my point...

Yeah... I see your point. But my point is I definitely would rather see Clark rocking the Blue jump suit and red cape rather than matrix/ chalk superman symbol costume. But i still would see matrix smallville rather than no smallville at all. So for those who say it should be cancelled, i stand by what i say.

Didn't see this coming at all!

I mean, after they left his plot-line completely open and on a cliffhanger, I'm so surprised their bringing him back!

;)

Superman7 @ Good man!

For those who say cancel it, i say don't [frick]ing watch it, and [frick] off if ya don't like it lol!

It may of [frick]ed up a lot of stuff on SMALLVILLE, but i love the DC cameos on it!! This TRUE BLOOD and DEXTER an LOST are the best shows on TV!!

Cant wait for HUMAN TARGET!!

It should be canceled honestly. It's past its prime (way past it) and there really is no where else to go with the storyline. By this point, Clark should be just about to become Superman, and that's where the show should end, or should have ended. The whole point of Smallville was to show how Clark becomes Superman, and its time for that to happen and for the show to end.

They're just stretching it out as long as possible now. Season 9 should be the last.

Thanks Lee!

And for anyone else who says that it should be cancelled, you probly didnt just see the teaser trailer for Smallville: Absolute Justice! It looks F^CKING SICK!

To quote the comic-god Geoff Johns Dr. Fate's costume "looks beyond accurate!" and Im pretty sure i saw Sandman. Fairly certain but not positive... But hell! It could have been some other guy who wears a top hat, gas mask and trench coat that appears in the same episode/movie that his teammates happen to appear in!

Im SO glad it got picked up for season nine last year! Hope it goes on for 10!

And seriously! For those who bitch, saying "they should cancel smallville"... its on FRIDAY NIGHTS AT 8:00 PM!!!

If all you have to do with your Friday nights is sit around and critique a show that you don't like, then I feel REALLY bad for you! seriously! You don't have to watch it. Go out to a bar and get laid! Its not that hard. Maybe then we'll stop reading the pinned up aggression that you're projecting onto Smallville.

If you need coaching on how to get laid you know where to find me and a bunch of other people willing to help... this website.

I am a Smallville fan, I tuned out for some of the early arcs I thought were stupid, but I am still a fan and watched every episode when it aired for the last 3-4 seasons.

That said, no way in hell can anyone say that Smallville is better than Superman TAS, that is just blasphemy.

I agree with Harrison. Comparing Smallville to TAS is like comparing Batman Forever to The Dark Knight.

I like Smallville but they are sorta right about it being cancelled. Smallville should end but there should be a spin-off called Metropolis!! This way there can be lots of cameos by all sorts of heros and villians.

@ Matowar:

Thank god someone has brought up a logical reason to end Smallville! I agree with that whole heartedly! That would be really sick if they started calling it Metropolis and made it a full fledged Superman TV show..
Like if they did what the batman cartoon did. They changed the name to 'the new batman adventures', added new animation, but kept everything else the same and made just the next chapter in the series. That could be incredible if smallville did that. And it would please alot of the fan boys. Including me!

METALLO episode didnt care for it really nor Brian Austin Greene he comes off as cheesy to me. Maybe it's those 90210 episodes suck in my mind. Why did I watch 90210 some of you are saying to yourself.

I WAS STUCK IN GERMANY FOR 5 YRS WATCHING AFN T.V.
we only had 3 channels so..I have to admit at the time it was somewhat entertaining ,but I really didnt like Greene's character he was some break dancing, gay looking, D.J.

CANCEL SMALLVILLE?WHY?Because he's not flying or put on the suit yet? Yea I agree these things would be nice ,but as long as they keep putting out characters and storylines like their doing now(season 9) there's going to be a 10th season.

It comes on friday nites so unless your married with kids like myself how do you have time to watch t.v. on a friday nite anyways. Maybe the fact your watching t.v. on a friday night is effecting you more than your so-called dislike of a show you continue to watch and comment on. Come out of the closet...your welcome to join the faithful legend of WATCHERS of the show called SMALLVILLE...LOL now KNEEL BEFORE KAL-EL.

Jonathan: No, I pick a show that perfectly captures everything that Superman is and everything that the characters around him are, and completely retains the essence of Superman's storylines.

Smallville wets its pants in comparison to TAS. It pales compared to the characterizations, plot lines, and general vibe from TAS.

Let's not forget how TAS never used the poorly executed, boring, contrived, cliched, cringe-worthy, mushy teen drama of Smallville, which lasted through 8 seasons by the way, and there have been 9 seasons so far. 8/9 seasons with terrible and melodramatic teen drama is not good.

Or how it never used a lead actor that is as good of an actor as cardboard.

You call us fanboys. You make those comments about Smallville, and you call ME a fanboy.....okay. HYPOCRITE (facepalm)
