Smallville: Justice Society Movie Delayed

Smallville: Justice Society Movie Delayed

There's been a lot of excitement building regrarding the appearance of the Justice Society (in the form of Hawkman, Doctor Fate and Stargirl) on Smallville, but it's going to take a little longer before we get to see it.

The two-part episode -- which, as previously reported, will air as a single two-hour movie event, has been postponed until February 5th. The script for this meeting between the Justice Society and the formative Justice League is, of course, written by Geoff Johns. The first hour is directed by Glen Winter and the second by Tom Welling.

YOU KNOW I WISH THERE WAS ONE EPISODE WHERE CLARKS FUTURE SELF, A FULLY REALIZED SUPERMAN VISITS HIM IN ALL HIS SUPERMAN GLORY...SUIT AND ALL. YEAH AN I KNOE THE "WON'T ALLOW " BS IS IN EFFECT BUT WHY NOWADAYS? HECK BACK IN THE DAY U HAD LOUIS AND CLARK, THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN...SUPERMAN CARTOONS..MOVIE IS A MOVIE..TV IS TV. MAKING THESE NO POTENTIAL SUPERCHARACTERS APPEARING ON TV IS SUCH SUPER BULLSHET. IF YOU WANNA SPREAD SOMETHING GOOD AND UP THE APPEAL..DON'T YOU WANT TO GET IT OUT THERE THROUGH ALL MEDIA?

Is it me, or have the past few episodes of Smallville been really strong? It seems that as they're moving away from zombies and overall silliness, things are getting stronger and stronger. The emphasis on Lois and Clark has been terrific, the Jor-El/Zod story from last week very strong and last night's show -- and I can't believe I'm saying this about an episode featuring the Wonder Twins -- completely engrossing. Plus Lois' mind-flash to the future intriguing as hell. What think you all?

EdGross- I am with you 100% on that, this might just be smallville's strongest season yet!! and ya, last night's episode was terrific! I can't wait for nest week
we get to see the future (lois's vision)!!

Yes...I agree Ed. I'm glad Smallville has gotten back on track....and on THAT note, I'm ok to wait a few more weeks on the JSA movie if that means it will be done right. Don't complain guys! You don't want it rushed!

On the subject of Superman, the truth is we are not going to see that costume until the very last scene of the very last episode of the series, and Tom Welling will not be wearing it. Believe me, I really want to see him as full-fledged Superman, but the producers take the point of view that once he becomes Superman, the series is over. Smallville is about Clark's journey to becoming Superman.

Ed: I agree, this season has been awesome! Im loving the whole Clark/Lois/Blur thing! And they finally getting to the nitty-gritty, and it’s the best season so far imo!

I’m also looking forward to Zod and his team getting his powers and fighting Clark that should be good! ;)

i haven't watched last nights episode yet, but aside from the season opener i've been impressed with this season. its like they're taking the show seriously again like they did the first few seasons.
EdGross
EdGross - 11/14/2009, 10:07 AM
I think part of the strengthening comes from the fact that instead of four executive producers guiding the show, there are two. Fewer voices, clearer vision, and it's finally paying off. I would not go so far as to say this is the best season by any means, but they certainly seem to have found their footing and are strengthening the show week to week. And this despite limitations in budget!

I was not only suprised that last nights episode featuring the WonderTwins was watchable but very very good. Smallville utilized them perfectly.

I watched that "Mercy Reef" pilot about 2 years ago, and thought it was pretty decent. It was along the lines of Smallville, and Aquaman's story seemed pretty good. I wish that The CW would have picked it up.

this season has been really surprising me with the quality of it. Much improved over last season, and if the movie is pushed back a week, that jus gives more time to make it better!

woo hoo!

Me personally I hate the whole blur thing it's a pretty lame nickname and concept.Since he's not flying maybe he's Flash wearing the S-shield I guess that explains the BLUR. When Zod does get his powers the way they portray Clark I just dont see how he'd be able to stand against an egual. With Zod's military fighting background...come on Clark's a wimp with powers. He has no edge whatsoever Zod on the other hand seems like he's out for blood.

You know I've heard a few people saying that Tom Welling could be a potential Superman for the reboot and I thought they were crazy. But after yesterday's episode, I think I've reconsidered that thought, He could very well be a great Superman for the reboot movie. Anyways, that's "shimckerdoodle", they're making us wait longer just to see the Justice Society episodes!

EdGross - 11/14/2009, 12:14 PM
airbeyond18, are you referring to one of the final moments when Clark talks to the Wonder Twins? He absolutely screamed Superman in that sequence, with or without the costume.

I will admit I've never seen an episode of Smallville. I have heard great things about it but never have been able to bring myself to check it out. It looks like a teen drama meets the Supes mythos. Someone please tell me I wrong because I want to give it a try.

The last episode was very good, considering who the special guest characters were.

But one thing stuck out that annoyed me, the Dark Knight rip-off sub-plot. I'm surprised it hasn't been brought up yet. It was so obvious, TDK had the Batman must reveal himself story-line and now Smallville copied that. It really annoyed me. First they rip-off the Superman Returns roof-top shoot-out scene, now they rip-off TDK.

Last night i stood up out my seat when he putnon those glasses. Then the speech with the wonder twins was awesome. Blackzero reference is being well played out. Smallville made up for a lot.

juggy4711, I sure as hell hope not. I'm 49 and when it's good, I really do enjoy it.

And, Crusader, like i said earlier, even without the costume, Tom Welling WAS Superman when he delivered that speech. Very cool moment.

I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A SMALLVILLE MOVIE THAT HAS SMALLVILLE IN A TIME WARP AND IS VISITED BY ANOTHER CLARK KENT FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE AND TIME . ( LIKE THE OLD GEORGE REEVES SUPERMAN )MAKING SMALLVILLE THE DARKER
SUPERMAN . JUST HAVE FUN WITH IT , ADD A FEW TWIST AND TURNS . AND TIE UP A FEW LOOSE ENDS .

I have been watching this show from the building and I love the way they are portraying things this season. Like many of you I was really worried when I heard that the Wonder Twins would be on and that you would see Gleek. but they pulled it off great. I dont mind waiting for the Society episode as long as they continue at this pace.

InTylerWeTrust82: I thought the same thing you did about that being a scene from right from the Dark Knight but it worked in this one as well.

And bringing out the glasses at the end was awesome.
