i.e. GREEN ARROW, LOSH, MARTIAN MANHUNTER, SUPERGIRL, JUSTICE (even lol).

VILLES been done to death since the god awful last season!

If this is the variation of the costume we're being offered, I'll take it. At least it's showing an evolution in the right direction. Plus it will probably be more appealing to people who DON'T want to see the red and blue outfit (among them Tom Welling himself), and at least the "S" will be there. Now let's hope that the scripts are there, too. Unfortunately I've been lured in before. What's the old saying? "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me a couple of dozen times....I'm a putz."

SirPrize, it really does come down to the scripts. The cast is great, the direction is fine, the effects still hold up despite the reduced budget, but everything rises and falls with those scripts. Let's hope they take some real chances with the show rather than resort to formula.

@sirprize - Very good point, let's just hope to God it doesn't get worse, I swear if the season premeire is anything like the season finale of season 8 I won't watch another episode of Smallville

things are clearly going in a good direction (FINALLY after 9 years we get some sort of costume!!) but it looks like a poor mans version of Neo from the Matrix! I smell another bitter disappointment! :(

Regardless of how it looks, at least he is wearing a suit. I dont really like the Matrix look however, I do like the black and silver "S" look from the books, also I'm tired of the bright red jacket and bright blue shirt. I would have been fine with an "S" on the blue shirt though. They do need to evolve the character and it seems like they are finally doing that, its just sad that its in the final season. The last couple of seasons were let downs especially the last, however it does give me something comic related to watch once a week, I never could get into Heroes, so Smallville returning is fine with me. It would be nice to see a cameo of a young Bruce Wayne or even Batman in this season to go with the dark look and having Zod instead of Lex is great. I dont like Lex as the villain but no one can play him better than Rosenbaum from Smallville....retr0

Before Matrix, it harkens back to the first Donner Superman movies of Kryptonian dress that Jor El and the cousel wore. Could it be that that is what he maybe wearing in homage?

i thinks its alright its a modern costume then the red and blue spandex, everybody is used to the cape and all but this isnt that bad i think they needed to update the watchmen costumes geez
