In an excerpt from the article (follow the link for the full piece), the Coventry Telegraph writes, "Davis is a 6ft 1ins, 190lbs model and up-and-coming actor and, he tells me, he did the Superman voiceover work for the All Star Superman documentary, which will be on the DVD release of the animated movie All Star Superman when it hits stores in late 2011. He hopes, of course, that providing a voice for the animated Superman will increase his chances of getting on Warner Bros' radar as a contender for the live-action version of the character.
"I asked Anderson if he was aware of being listed online as a possible candidate for the role. He told me: 'It's really great to be getting some buzz on the internet regarding Superman. I've read that Zack seems to be wanting to go into a different direction with this superman, which I can say seems refreshing, and he's looking for an unknown which is another plus on my behalf.
I have done numerous commercials but haven't pursued acting until I felt my craft was honed enough to bring justice to a role.' So what does he think he can bring to the portrayal of such an iconic character? What qualities does the new Superman need? Davis says: 'As Superman I think I could truly bring some heart to the role, as all fans know he stands for truth, justice and the American way. In my heart Superman is also a man that has human feelings even though he is Superman. I think most fans want to see a Superman that truly feels from his heart, whether it be his intense love for Lois, his passion for people, his anger towards the enemy.
'I think most are bored with the inner battle and self-discovery Superman has gone through. This Superman needs to become more sure of himself and then start kicking some ass. Bottom line, I think people want to see some gut-wrenching true emotion from their Superman and I can give them that."
