HENRY CAVILL as KAL-EL/CLARK KENT/SUPERMAN
Sent to earth by his parents Jor-El and Lara from the planet Krypton, he is found by Jonathan and Martha Kent who take in the young alien boy and raise him as their own. Frustrated as he grows up and develops superhuman abilities, he can't make a difference in the world without making the decision to go public. Against his parents’ wanting him to stay ‘invisible,’ he takes the world by storm and is dubbed Superman. A great foe from the depths of space soon causes problem in the form of Brainiac. Arriving on Earth, Brainiac searches for a crystal that will reveal Clark’s true heritage.
EMILY BLUNT as LOIS LANE
Lois Lane is a Met University graduate and arch enemy of Catherine "Cat" Grant. The two graduated together, and both work at the Daily Planet both trying to outdo each other. Lois is a down on her luck reporter trying to get the big break she thinks she deserves. After pushing Lex Luthor too hard, a hit is ordered. She is ultimately saved by Superman. She immediately forms a special bond with the Man of Steel as she gets his exclusive story. This leads to her falling head over heels for him.
BILL ZANE as LEX LUTHOR
Lex Luthor is the richest man in Metropolis and the founder and CEO of LexCorp. In the public eye, Lex is a smooth talking, sauve businessman, always looking to help the citizens of Metropolis and give money to charities. What they don't know is his link to criminal organization Intergang who have helped to make him who he is. Intergang acts on Lex’ behalf in driving away competition with illicit tactics. When Superman reveals himself known to the world, he sees this as the perfect opportunity to be his own one man army. Lex’s hatred of Superman emerges as he reveals Luthor’s criminal ways. When the alien computer Brainiac arrives and begins attacking Metropolis, he quickly makes a deal to get rid of Superman in exchange for helping the android.
COREY BURTON as BRAINIAC (voice)
Brainiac is a Coluan Super Computer thatsearches the universe for the richest and most advanced knowledge. He attacked Krypton, Superman's home planet in search for its Crystal of Knowledge. Superman's father hid the crystal in his son's spaceship and sent him to Earth just before Brainiac destroyed the planet. It searched the universe for the Crystal leading it to Earth. Finding Superman on Earth, he realizes he has finally found it, but is initially defeated with his android body being destroyed. Making a deal with Lex Luthor to build him a new body, he then goes on the attack using Superman's personal feelings against him.
ANTON YELCHIN as JAMES "JIMMY" OLSEN
He is a young photographer at the Daily Planet looking to make a big break in the world after dropping out of a journalism school at Metropolis University. He is normally looking for a major story with Lois Lane whom he believes has the knowledge he missed out on. He is the first person to capture a clear picture of the alien Superman when he returns Lois Lane to the Daily Planet after the botched murder attempt by Intergang.
TOM BERENGER as PERRY WHITE
Perry White is the Editor in Chief of the Daily Planet and has been for the last 15 years. He is an old school reporter who wants the truth from every story. He is losing faith in newspapers with the popularity of the internet and modern technology. His faith is restored however when Superman arrives on the scene and Lois Lane gets the first exclusive words from Superman, making the Daily Planet sell millions of copies and shooting it back to stardom.
SCARLETT JOHANSSON as MERCY GRAVES
Mercy Graves is the loyal personal assistant and bodyguard to Lex Luthor. A martial arts expert who loves Lex, she is fiercely protective and is always looking to make sure people like Lois Lane are unable to bring him down. She is persistently pursued romantically by John Corben --she comically denies him every time.
LEONARDO DiCAPRIO as JOHN CORBEN
John Corben is the top reporter at the Daily Planet. After numerous breakthrough stories and numerous exposés of Lex Luthor, his reputation has skyrocketed. He is respected by most in the newsroom. Behind closed doors however, he is shown to be an insider for Luthor by informing him of breaking stories that could expose his connections to Intergang. Corben turns his back on Luthor once he discovers Lex’s partnership with Brainiac. Luthor then publically incriminates Corben at the Daily Planet. Lex further answers with a $500,000 hit on Corben.
TOM HARDY as BRUNO "UGLY" MANHEIM
Bruno Manheim is the head of criminal organization Intergang, Metropolis' premiere mob. He has people working within Metropolis' PD that keep Intergang one step ahead of long term pursuers, Detective's Dan Turpin and Maggie Sawyer. In his dealings with Luthor, he orders Intergang to do Lex’s dirty bidding and cripple rival corporations so that LuthorCorp grows with fat government contracts.
TIM KELLEHER as DAN TURPIN
Detective Dan Turpin is one of the few cops not yet corrupted in Metropolis along with partner Maggie Sawyer. They are considered the best on the force and are consistently pursuing Intergang boss Bruno Manheim and looking to implicate Lex Luthor. They are unsuccessful because of the help Lex and Manheim receive from their contacts within the police department. When Superman becomes public, they receive a much needed boost and get both of their men.
MAURA TIERNEY as MAGGIE SAWYER
Detective Maggie Sawyer is a hard as nails detective partnered with long time friend Dan Turpin. Both are the best cops on the force and actively pursue Bruno Manheim and criminal Lex Luthor.
BRUCE GREENWOOD as JONATHAN KENT
Jonathan Kent is the fifth generation to man the Kent Farm in Smallville. He is a strong minded all American man built on heavy principles. He and his wife Martha Kent found a small alien spacecraft that landed in their back field around thirty years ago and took in the alien child. Clark began developing superhuman abilities. Shortly thereafter, they decided to protect Clark and teach him to hide his powers and stay away from the centre of attention. After completing his journalism degree at Kansas University, Clark returned from travelling with a plan to settle down and help the world with his powers—much to the Kents’ chagrin.
MERYL STREEP as MARTHA KENT
Martha Kent is the loyal wife of Kansas farmer Jonathan Kent. They met in their youth while Jonathan was on holiday and married soon after. With Martha moving from the city to the rural Smallville against her father's wishes, they soon found a young alien boy crashed in their field and named him Clark. Clark developed superhuman abilities. Upon maturity, Clark decided to use his powers for good and Martha helped him disguise his identity.
SAM ELLIOTT as SAMUEL LANE
Samuel Lane is a four star general in the United States Army and the single father of Lois and Lucy Lane. Shortly after the younger daughter Lucy’s birth, his wife passed. Heart broken, Lane became cold and distant which lead to his sending the two girls off to boarding school. Upon Brainiac’s arrival, he is called into action and leads a battalion against the alien android.
TALULAH RILEY as CATHERINE "CAT" GRANT
Catherine "Cat" Grant is the chief gossip reporter at the Daily Planet and the arch rival of Lois Lane. Graduating Metropolis University at the same time, they both try to make the big time always taking digs at each other and trying to best the one another. Lois outdoes Cat with an exclusive interview with Superman firmly putting Cat in her place.
DILEEP RAO as RON TROUPE
Ron Troupe is a Princeton graduate and a political reporter at the Daily Planet. He is close friends with Clark Kent and Jimmy Olsen. He is considered by all to be too good for the Daily Planet newsroom and should be a future Editor in Chief.
NICKY KATT as STEVE LOMBARD
Steve is a former college football star whose career ending injury leaves him with a large chip on his shoulder. He often takes out his frustration on co-workers Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, and Ron Troupe. He frequently pursues Lois Lane and Cat Grant.
Most of this FAN CAST is based on Christopher Nolan's policy of re-using people from previous movies as most are from his previous movies. Comments below are welcomed.
