TIM KELLEHER as DAN TURPIN

Detective Dan Turpin is one of the few cops not yet corrupted in Metropolis along with partner Maggie Sawyer. They are considered the best on the force and are consistently pursuing Intergang boss Bruno Manheim and looking to implicate Lex Luthor. When Superman becomes public, they receive a much needed boost and get both of their men.

MAURA TIERNEY as MAGGIE SAWYER

Detective Maggie Sawyer is a hard as nails detective partnered with long time friend Dan Turpin. Both are the best cops on the force and actively pursue Bruno Manheim and criminal Lex Luthor.

He and his wife Martha Kent found a small alien spacecraft that landed in their back field around thirty years ago and took in the alien child. Clark began developing superhuman abilities. Shortly thereafter, they decided to protect Clark and teach him to hide his powers and stay away from the centre of attention. After completing his journalism degree at Kansas University, Clark returned from travelling with a plan to settle down and help the world with his powers—much to the Kents’ chagrin.
MERYL STREEP as MARTHA KENT

Steve is a former college football star whose career ending injury leaves him with a large chip on his shoulder. He often takes out his frustration on co-workers Clark Kent, Jimmy Olsen, and Ron Troupe. He frequently pursues Lois Lane and Cat Grant.

Most of this FAN CAST is based on Christopher Nolan's policy of re-using people from previous movies as most are from his previous movies. Comments below are welcomed.

I have a little observation about Harley Quinn and Mercy Graves.I always thought it was kinda funny that when people hear the Joker or Lex, they immediately think of Harley and Mercy. Those two characters weren't created until the Animated Series, in 1992 and 1996.They didn't even enter comic book continuity until the late 90s.I guess it's a testament to those two characters that even though they haven't been around that long, they are so firmly incorporated into the story of two characters that existed for nearly 60 years without them.

I'd think you want a black actor for Ron Troup.Unless you have a reason for changing his race?

Other than Cavill, I am cool with the cast, though I hate to see DiCaprio anywhere near a Superhero movie. In the role of a reporter I can tolerate it. Cavill is way too wimpy/boyish and doesn't have the stature for playing the Man of Steel. Plus WB has already told him "no" once for the part and the inside word is that he is off the radar now even though he is older.

Cavill vs. Zane...that's a REAL epic Superman vs. Lex Luthor battle!

Dave@ WB didn't like him as Superman though. It wasn't just Singer. I have been following the Superman casting news sites and boards very closely and people with inside sources at WB have said Cavill is not in the picture. All speculation, but I will be extremely disappointed if they cast someone wimpy and smaller in frame like Cavill as Superman.

Here is what Superman would look like going up against Thor. Put Cavill up against Hemsorth and he would simply look pathetic. I am not saying that this would ever happen, but if you consider what it would look like it, I think it puts things in perspective.

Cavill is too small...I'd rather see Routh I think he's a solid Superman he just happen to have had a terrible storyline and cast to work with. I know a few fan boys on here dont care for him and to each his or her own. The guy isnt a bad actor...he's probally never going to win an oscar, but how many people getting cast in a comicbookmovie ever will or have.

Routh has the size the guy is 6'2" 225lbs and I hear alot of you saying he needs to bulk up the guy is bigger than Reeves or Dean Cain... not taller than Reeve but bigger. Im sure 95% of you on here would kill for a frame like Routh so just quit it...lol.

The guy has the look Im sure he doesnt have a problem getting dates or turning the eye of the females. Again Im willing to bet 95% of you on here are average to below average in looks and that's o.k. but again quit it...lol.

One more thing in defense of ROUTH ...most of you would agree the movie sucked. shouldn't the guy get another crack at it with a better director and cast.... if he fails then I'll say ROUTH sucks.

@BLADE44: If this new Superman flick fails too...then Supes will probably never get another movie for another decade or so. So why take the risk on Routh...AGAIN?? I understand the failure of Superman Returns wasn't ALL his fault...but still it's risky to give him 'another crack at it' this film is important and must be done RIGHT from the start. We can't just put him in the role and if he [frick]s it up then "oh well" he along with Bryan Singer nearly re-killed the Superman-franchise. I am a real and true Superman-fan...always have been and always will be and I can't stand the thought of taking another risk with Routh.

LP4: I hear you Superman is my fav also. I just
get tired of hearing about Welling the guy just
doesnt have IT. I understand your stance/pt of view
I'd just like to see Routh do it I think he can pull
it off.

I agree They need to get Superman right we havent had a GOOD Superman movie yet. Oh and I dont want to hear about Reeve I DIDNT CARE FOR HIS SUPERMAN EITHER.
