There Will Be An Eleventh Season Of SMALLVILLE ..In Novel Form

The Smallville finale left quite a few fans underwhelmed, but they will get a chance to see what happens to the characters from the Tv series after those final shots of Clark fulfilling his destiny as Superman. Well, read about em anyway..

We all finally got to see Clark Kent (Tom Welling) don the cape and take flight as Superman in Smallville's final episode. It was..not near as epic as it should have been and many fans felt very let down but the whole thing, even those that had stuck with the show through it's less than stellar final few seasons. But perhaps more intriguing than that was an epilogue featuring Chloe (Allison Mack) reading a bed time story to her son who (at least seemingly) is also the son of The Green Arrow (Justin Hartely). Now Bleeding Cool report that a new novel will continue these stories and the adventures of all of the Smallville folk after the events of the show's 10th and final season..

I understand that story editor and writer for the series, Bryan Q Miller, also recently of Batgirl until the DC Relaunch, is to write a new novel, telling the story of what happened to the Smallville cast after the end of the TV series, in continuity. A Smallville Season Eleven, if you will. With Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Eight and Nine doing so well in comic book form, this seems a rather natural move.

The site is unsure if there will be more novels to follow or a comic book adaptation but expect an official announcement to shed some more light on the whole thing. So what do you think guys, will you be reading this?

IMO, Erica Durance was the only really good thing about the whole series. And I'm not talking about her acting.

The Smallville finale left quite a few fans underwhelmed...

The entire show left me underwhelmed. I was a huge Supes fan growing up so I was pumped when the show first came out. It was good at first then just fell into the trap of lazy writing and needless character cameos. I have no interest in this though I'm happy for fans who do.

It got boring fast and their takes on the villians were awful. Bizarro? Gimme a break. Metallo? Super-lame. Darkseid? Was he even really in the show? The worst was Doomsday. Waaaay to early to introduce him and to turn him into a young teenager... sacrilige. Luthor had great moments in the show but for the most part just seemed... meh.

I could care less if a writer takes liberties with a character as long as they are good. They were horrible in Smallville. There is so much they could have done with this show and they just didnt. Still... it was a hell of a lot more entertaining than 99% of the crap out there so its got that I guess.

One direction they could have taken, since Green Arrow became such a fixture he seemed to share the same amount of screen time as supes, is just make a DC hero show with various heroes and their villians in alternation arcs. Flash for a few episodes, then Aquaman, then Green Lantern and so on. Would have gotten some DC names out there in the minds of the general audience :)

Nomis out of every single CBM there has been EVER Smallville is probably the most UNfaithful to it's source material in every way shape and form. But that never bothered me too much as I can accept that it was just an alternative telling of the stories..as all movie/tv adaptations are anyway, what bothered me was that it sucked.

Hmm...let's see. If more details indicate that this actually will be a good read and also will answer a few questions (and yes, I still agree that kid is Ollie's son since he did stare on a set of arrows before gone; but we all need a confirmation), I'd grab it if I spot one. Also, I think it could be a bit fun to imagine Tom Welling in action as Superman...well, a bit fun. :)

I'd prefer a comic over a novel, but it could be good if they get the right writer.

Why do people assume that we were going to get an entire episode of clark flying around in the suit? They told us before this show even came on TV that it wasnt about Superman it was about Clark becoming Superman. Gough and Millar even said that they would probably end the series with us just seeing clark fly off in the suit and that would be it. So yeah the last five minutes of Clark flying out of the fortress of solitude, rescuing the plane, flying off to apokalpyse, hovering over the earth and opening his shirt at the end of the episode is more then they ever promised.

What are you all talking about? Smallville was epic. We saw Tom flying around in the suit for a little bit at end. I watched all ten seasons over the last several years and was completely satisfied with that ending. I would love a novel. Can't wait to read it.

What . . . NO!! HELL NO!! I AINT GIVIN THESE MOTHA F[RICKERS] ANY MORE OF MY MONEY AFTER THAT P.O.S. THEY GAVE US FOR A FINALE! FRICK U SMALLVILLE!!

Sorry, I was so upset I had to get ghetto there for a second. *takes a deep breath*

I would read it if it were comic book form, I really don't think it could keep me engaged to the point where I would be able to get through a whole book. BUT, I would not be paying for it! I would borrow it from someone and read it, but none of my money is goin to that show that ruined my love for it. Was one long shot, or at least a damn medium shot of Clark in the suit really that hard to give?!?
