Zack Snyder recently sat down with Fox All Access where he praised Smallville for keeping Superman alive in today's society.

Said Snyder:

I'll say one thing about Smallville, Thank for Smallville. Smallville by its self, quietly, has kept Superman in conciseness in a way that with out it my kids would be like 'who the hell is Superman? I don't even know who that guy is.' I think that in that way Smallville has done an amazing job of keeping that icon alive and breathing. He is on life support, but he is there. And I thank them for that.
