Kinda cool. I hope they tie it to edo period Japanese mythology like down of the old comic arcs. In some stories, shredder encountered splinter in old japan.

That's oddly similar to when Lord Norinaga thought they were the legendary Kappa who defeated his ancestors in TMNT 3.

Pretty cool, but I'll only get to see this in September.

Portugal: We get The Amazing Spiderman 2 and Captain America (both) weeks earlier, but the TMNT, you'll have to wait a full month for it.

Lmao at the Ninja Turtles with Friar Tuck hairdos.

This is basically "TMNT 3" mixed with the reincarnation route in the IDW comics.

I HATE the Turtles are being created in a lab in this version. The classic origin of them falling down a sewer and being exposed by ooze works perfectly and has for the last 30 years. To go that route, feels cheap and lacks the pizzazz of the Turtles encountering the ooze by destiny, fate or accident IMO.

@SusanFuentes I hope so too wish more people would read up on it love the classic origin but idw gives it more of a purpose instead which is more then welcomed

From Wiki: Kappa (河童, "river-child"), alternatively called Kawatarō (川太郎, "river-boy"), Komahiki (“horse puller”), or Kawako (川子?, "river-child"), are a yōkai found in Japanese folklore. In Shintō they are considered to be one of many suijin (水神,“water deity”), or one of their temporary appearances. Along with the oni and the tengu, they are one of the most well-known yōkai in Japan. Kappa are usually seen as mischievous troublemakers or trickster figures. They are curious of human civilization, and they can understand and speak Japanese. They may even befriend human beings in exchange for gifts and offerings, especially cucumbers, the only food kappa are known to enjoy more than human children.

Kappa rape girls and fart loudly and troll at the river banks. So it's hilarious they are using them to describe a connection to ancient Japan. Or maybe Splinter accepts them because of that connection he has to his heritage. He knows of old Kappa legends and sees the mutant turtles as a extension of those stories.

"Lmao at the Ninja Turtles with Friar Tuck hairdos."

LOL! I was thinking the same thing! I thought this was pretty cool in the beginning, but then when I saw the turtles with those haircuts...
