@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - A Last Ronin movie or TV show almost happened, but Nick turned it down because Mutant Mayhem.

Last Ronin as a direct sequel to the 1990 movie using this aesthetic would be awesome.

All of them were great in each of the Turtles' shells/roles, they cast them well.

Although I am still not such a huge fan of this "talking over each other" process in animation that began since the Spider-Verse films did it because it can make it difficult for the audience to understand all of what they're saying.

Nevertheless, good film. I wanna see more sequels where they take on more than just Shredder and eventually get to do Triceratons and Fugitoid, Rat King, John Bishop etc.

The kid playing Donatello should have been Michael Angelo. Also, Mikey and Donny got no actual characterization in the movie. We were shown Raph was the tough hot head, Leo was the leader but nothing showing Donnie was the smart one and Mikey was the fun one. I really wanted to love this movie but it just didn’t hit. Splinters learning martial arts from a vhs is the same joke as learning it from a book in the 2014 movie. Such a wasted opportunity to really dive into the Backstory of Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki.

@micvalpro - I disagree. Donatello is my favorite turtle so I was keen on how much bigger a role he had in this than he usually does, as he was basically the co-leader of the Turtles.

They showed off his brains by having the turtles defer to him every time they needed a plan, and seemed to have just as much (meaningful) dialogue as Leo. He even had the big "Aha!" moment in the climax with the Attack on Titan bit.

Though they did mellow-out their personalities a bit which I liked: Donny was more just a nerd than a tech-genius, Mikey was more go-with-the-flow & laid back than crazy party dude, and Raph was nice but liked to fight. They definitely less like archetypes this time around.

@micvalpro - Too on the nose to have the teen with the younger voice play Mikey. They also def show Donnie to be clever and quick thinking. Even Leo was asking him what they should do. They just didn’t punch you in the face with his intelligence and did little things instead (like notice the amount of books he has around his bed, clearly he reads a lot)

Now that I think about it, wasn’t Corey Feldman like 17/18 when he first voiced Donatello?
