While the new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem briefly leaked online earlier this week, the official version has finally been released by Paramount Pictures (via Toonado.com).

It appears to contain at least a little more footage than the last version we saw, with much of the spotlight put on the villainous Superfly. Played by Ice Cube, he looks set to be a refreshing change of pace from franchise regulars Krang and The Shredder, though he's every bit as formidable with an army of mutants at his side.

The four Heroes in a Half-Shell are by no means overshadowed here as we see more of their dynamic with Splinter and the team's unique back-and-forth. Some fans questioned the decision to cast four real teens, but we'd say it was the right move.

You can watch the action-packed new trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem below.

In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts.

Their new friend April O'Neil (Ayo Edebiri) helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

The cast also includes Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, John Cena as Rocksteady, Jackie Chan as Splinter, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Seth Rogen as Bebop, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, and Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.

Directed by Jeff Rowe (The Mitchells vs. the Machines), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is set to be released in theaters on August 2, 2023.

@IcePyke - Are you commenting on the race swap or the rest of her appearance? NGL I do agree with the latter. I don't care what race she is but April O'Neil was never a frumpy sidekick with coke-bottle glasses who looks like she cut her own hair.

If this movie is a success, I want Jeff Rowe directing a Flash animated movie that is DCU canon with The Rogues as villains.

In the leaked storyboards the Rat King was the main villain. Looks like they've replaced him with Superfly later in the creative process.
I'm guessing Superfly is Baxter Stockman, who turned himself into a mutant and created an army of mutants and now TCRI want them all back as intellectual property.

This entire thing looks horrible.

@IronMan616 - Totally disagree. I think it looks like a lot of fun and I love the original animation style. Ive never seen anything like it. It looks like a painting, then sketchy, but still CGI, yet at times almost claymation. Its super unique and energetic. We'll see if the movie is any good.

@Shivermetimbers - Def. It’s way different so the knee jerk reaction from some people are gonna be “I hate it”. It’s ridiculous to think now but people were complaining the same way about Into the Spider-Verse when those trailers first hit.

Feels incredibly basic to say this but I have to... it's giving Into The Spider-Verse vibes

Actually looking forward to this, despite destroying April O'Neil

Damn, Mikey has 2 black eyes in the scenes near the end of the trailer.

I just can’t get past how they change things up for seemingly no reason other than simply pandering. It’s such a joke. Mondo Gecko is supposed to be green. Not Blue. I will not be seeing.

Better than the last trailer for sure. It looks like it has a lot of heart.
