THE FLASH: Here's The Latest On When We'll See A Trailer For The DCU Movie

The Flash movie is fast approaching, and we now have an exciting update on when the first trailer for the troubled DC Comics adaptation is likely to be released. Find the latest update after the jump...

The Flash recently underwent another round of reshoots, with controversial lead star Ezra Miller returning for that additional photography. Whether new DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran had some input remains to be seen, but the expectation is that the troubled actor will not return to the DCU after this movie.

Regardless, there's still a lot of intrigue surrounding the Scarlet Speedster's first solo outing, especially as it includes Michael Keaton's Batman and Sasha Calle's DCU debut as Supergirl.

While we've already had a brief glimpse at The Flash, there's a lot of excitement for a proper trailer to be released.

Well, according to One Take News, we shouldn't expect a teaser to find its way online (and into theaters) until next year. That was later backed up by The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez, who said the information was "accurate" and that he already knows which movie it will play in front of.

Looking ahead to next year, Warner Bros. only really has three options: Magic Mike's Last Dance (February 10), Creed III (March 3), and Shazam! Fury of the Gods (March 17). However, there's always a good chance it could be attached to another studio's release, with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania a very likely candidate.

Still, if we were putting money on it, the Shazam! sequel seems the safest bet. That's late to start promoting The Flash, though it may be for the best given the negativity surrounding Miller.

Fans have made it clear they no longer want them to play the Fastest Man Alive, and George MacKay is rumoured to be the frontrunner to take over the role. Whether that will happen in this movie or down the line is hard to say, though we do still expect The Flash to be an important next step for the new DCU.

The Flash is set to be released in theaters on June 23, 2023.

speaking of Flash. I just recently saw SEE HOW THEY RUN. it was a fun little movie. Sam Rockwell doesn't make enough movies.

@CAPTAINPINKEYE - Do they run like ice skaters?

@CorndogBurglar - I don’t want to ruin the movie for you. You should watch it. There’s a whole Lotta running going on but I can’t tell you what kind of running. Sometimes running his track and field running and sometimes running is just running from the law running. Sometimes it’s just gingerbread running.

Do they run Naruto style?

@marvel72 - Naruto gets a lotta love for this, rightfully so imo, but it's not like track athletes don't employ this style of running. It's just usually at the end to win.

Considering all the hype they are building atm with Gunn taking over and having a new ‘big plan’ they really need to get this out and out of the way. It’s been delayed and had so many reshoots it’s never going to make its money anyway

@Twenty23Three - they should just do what they did with Batgirl. Dump it, write it off and then recast the role and rewrite a good flash script.

@JonAwesome - This isn't Batagirl though. They dumped money into it so I can't see them writing it off. I still feel like the execs realized DC has a built in reset button, don't know how they didn't know but whatev. Then Gunn's vision fully takes hold.

Probably Shazam!

I also wonder now, that's Gunn's involved and apparantly has a good working relationship with Miller, having gotten him to cameo in peacemaker and also gone through his own issues with twitter and the public...how are they going to work things out with Ezra?

It will be interesting to see...

CorndogBurglar - 11/9/2022, 7:42 AM
@UniqNo - I don't think they are going to work things out with Ezra. Didn't they announce a week ago or so that Ezra was done as The Flash after this movie? Was that not official, or am I remember wrong? Or am I making this up? Wait...I'm not sure where I am right now
Conquistador
Conquistador - 11/9/2022, 7:49 AM
@CorndogBurglar - I don't think that was official. And even if so, I highly doubt they'll do a Witcher and announce that before the movie even comes out. That cut off any kind of momentum the movie manages to keep hold of, even at this stage.

I Love The Flash character. This movie should have been inspirational and memorable, but this Douchbag Ezra Miller [frick]ed it all up with his insane antics. WB should sue the hell out of him. Then lock him up for life. He destroyed what should have been great!

CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/9/2022, 7:44 AM
@DCfan84 - He did a lot of that. But I'm not sure people were overly interested in this to begin with. Ezra just made it that much worse.

The DCEU has been such a mess for a while now that I really don't think many had a lot of faith in this movie, even before Ezra flipped his wig.
DCfan84
DCfan84 - 11/9/2022, 8:06 AM
@CorndogBurglar - I get that and really agree! I think the DCU (formerly the DCEU) has been garbage under Snyders vision. I was kinda hoping this movie would reset everything and introduce the real characters we love. Give us an inspirational Superman (i.e. what Cavill keeps talking about), a hardcore Detective Batman, a strong but morally correct Flash...so on and so forth. It can still do all that, but this movie should've a movie we clap at the end. Instead, EM only made this worse than what it already was. We need to get rid of the "Snyderverse" and movie into the REAL DC characters. But I do get what you're saying. It's just too bad it won't make a dent in this universe
DCfan84
DCfan84 - 11/9/2022, 8:12 AM
@CorndogBurglar - Speaking of doing characters Justice, this scene right here is Captain AMERICA! Him standing alone, beat up, and mentally defeated, yet ready to take on Thanos and his army? ALONE? That shit was RIGHT by CA's character. We need this type of inspiration from Superman in the DCU!

CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/9/2022, 9:15 AM
@DCfan84 - Totally agree with everything in these two comments. Flash should have been Flashpoint, but with an ending that gave everyone the DC Universe and characters everyone has been begging for. Even their previous plans sounded really bad. It was going to set up Batgirl as the new Batman with Keaton there too. Supergirl was going to be the new Superman. I just don't even know what to think about those rumors. It's just so bad.

And I'm someone that really believes Marvel should have recanted Steve Rogers, Stark, and T'Challa. Because any Marvel Universe just feels weird without them at the center. BUT....at least Rogers and Stark had plenty of time in the world and both had satisfying endings to their arcs. So I can't complain too much. I just really feel like the characters should always be bigger than the actors.

But DC was planning to basically remove Batman and Superman from their films. From the rumors, anyway. Can you imagine that? After only 3 movies? We barely knew them at that point. But they rushed everything from the beginning. Batman vs Superman as the 2nd movie in the franchise was just idiotic. It would have been like having Iron Man 1, then jumping to Civil War with Cap vs Iron Man, and introducing Cap in that movie.

How on earth did they ever think that was going to work? No one had any connection to either of those characters at that point.

@CorndogBurglar - "And I'm someone that really believes Marvel should have recanted Steve Rogers, Stark, and T'Challa. Because any Marvel Universe just feels weird without them at the center"

The word(s) that come to my head are: Replacements and Empty. So I agree on that point. Especially T'Challa! Chadwick Boseman may have passed (May he forever be in peace), but the Black Panther can still live on, especially now that "Variants" are in the mix.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/9/2022, 12:21 PM
@DCfan84 - And look, I know that no other actor could do a better Tony Stark. Or Stever Rogers. Or T'Challa. They are so loved in those roles that it's almost impossible for someone else to step in and get the same reaction from the audience.

But that shouldn't matter. They don't HAVE to be as loved. But any Marvel Universe needs its Steve, Stark, and T'Challa. Or else it suffers to an extent.
DCfan84
DCfan84 - 11/9/2022, 2:46 PM
@CorndogBurglar - I see your point, and slightly agree. If they're going to continue the Black Panther is a Mantle and not a character (like they've been doing in the comics), then anyone who takes that mantle should have earned the right to bear it. Therefore, given a good actor(tress), should be welcomed by all. Steve Rogers and Tony Stark are individuals, not a mantle. That's why I used the word "Empty". Those individuals are gone. We still have a Captain America, and a Ironheart(Ironman), but we no longer have Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. If you get what I'm saying.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/9/2022, 4:27 PM
@DCfan84 - Yep, I get you. But I feel like T'Challa is necessary with Rogers and Stark too.

I would honestly delay it.

Have it switch places with Aquaman, so it becomes the final pre-DC Studios movie and use it to set up the new DCU.

hope they don't ruin keaton's batman return for this, but i'd be surprised at this point. should've just done a batman beyond film with him instead of him now being the batman of the dceu, which doesn't make any sense at all.

Off topic but still DC

Look at how great this version of Black Adam is.

New leadership is not going to fix the hurtle this film has to get over with marketing a Miller led film.
