The Flash is currently having something of a disastrous weekend at the North American box office, but we can surely all agree that Sasha Calle (alongside Michael Keaton) steals the show in the latest DCEU movie.

Whether she'll be asked to reprise the role in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow remains to be seen, especially as DC Studios will likely want to distance the DCU from the negativity currently surrounding this release. Calle, meanwhile, has to be disappointed that not one, but two scrapped endings for the movie once promised a bright future for her character.

She's clearly not letting that get to her, though, something that's evident from this heartfelt Instagram post. In that, the Supergirl actress looks back at her time working on The Flash and shares some awesome behind-the-scenes footage and photos of Kara Zor-El suited up and in action.

Check out Calle's post below.

Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.

That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

The movie stars Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdu, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton.

The Flash is now playing in theaters.

Strange message to say *spoilers* Supergirl gets the biggest shaft with her "arc" about how it's impossible for her to succeed at her task during the battle, and then she just gets left dead and forgotten because doing what they needed to do was actually impossible.

@RealTurner - it went to show how two Flashes a batman and a supergirl couldnt handle what Henry Cavills superman could have, it makes man of steel more powerful

@Matchesz - THIS. People are so busy shitting on this movie that they don't get what an affirmation of MOS it actually is.
ObserverIO

@Matchesz - It just goes to show that old people, women and trans people cannot do a real man's job no matter how many of them there are or how many times they change the timeline. There is no timeline where they can be as strong as a real man with a real chin and a big swinging dick.

I'm thinking of waving a Flash flag at my next march against women, trans people and the elderly.

@ObserverIO - "I'm thinking of waving a Flash flag at my next march against women, trans people and the elderly."

LOL You should! That would make this particular Flash lover very happy.

As much as you deny it, I'm thinking DrReedRichards is completely on the money about your secret identity.

@ObserverIO - LOL. You guys keep guessing.
But you're so off the mark.

It's kind of cute tho. It's flattering to say the least.

@Matchesz - I'll give you that one. No! Does it even make an argument for the necksnap?! "He simply had to do it!"

But I actually really enjoyed the film. On that "I'm really enjoying this!" emotional level that you can't really fake or have to second guess afterward. It felt like such a shame that they finally made something that came close to organic use of all the elements they have acculimated, and now that's all going to be flushed away. I can't see Blue Beetle or Aquaman 2 coming close to this in those terms.

@ObserverIO - I would also love to know what makes you think considering I am

1. Anti-Rascist Fundamentally - I believe "Race" is an arbitrary social structure.
I do value Cultural Identity but I see it as a personal asset.
Race should play no part in any Governmental identity. We are all equal and free people. 'Race' does not matter.

2. I am not Christian. I am actually anti-Christian in the sense that I do not put value in any religion, whether Abrahamic or not. Christian, Jew, Muslim, Satan, Buddha, Hindu, Mormon, whatever other stupid thing you come up with. I don't believe in any of it.
I define myself. I have worked through life situations and defined my own values, my own priorities and imperatives. I have written my own laws. And Yes, they do turn out to be very similar to modern societies values, but at least I have reasoned them from square one.
I am my own man. [frick] all religions.

3. I abhor the Nazi Party. Fascism is an abomination to me. Putting any person above the law is the true Death of a Nation. Trump is charged of enormous crimes.

And I say, Let him hang. Fat shitbag betrayed out country. and Let Him Hang I mean in a literal sense. I would love to see him hung on the capitol lawn. For the traitor he is.
I did not feel this way until very recently. But I have now read the full extent of his crimes.
At the very least, he should be in jail for the rest of his life.

4. I believe in a sexual autonomy. Women and Men should be free to have sex when and however they want.

So now, you still think I am your little alts?
LOL. I doubt it.

@TempleRod - You are also very pro-Ezra Miller. But hey, people change. Maybe you've changed your views on a lot of things, but not all things. Or maybe you are both just uncannily similar in a lot of ways?

Here's one thing though, I always thought counterpoint was more inclined towards Islam than anything else. I can't remember what gave me that impression. Something from the DexLives days, or even before then.
So maybe you're not him, because you say you're not a Christian like him and I don't think he even was a Christian.

Hmmmm...
TempleRod
TempleRod - 6/18/2023, 8:23 AM
@ObserverIO - I am very familiar with this character.
This Counterpoint IPMan.
And I've always marked him as a clown. HE IS a racist in the lowest sense. Like actually believes that race means something and denotes one person versus another.

If you read anything I have ever said, That is actually the opposite.
I understand the current cultural implications of the word 'racist'. I just don't care because I know that I have come to a more complete understanding of how much nonsense that actually means.
In a cultural sense, yes, every person's lineage means something dearly important to them.
And that lineage should be treasured.
But should it be recognized by the government or some standard to award roles and money?
No it shouldn't. That is setting up false precendents.

It is in itself establishing 'race' as a deciding factor. There is no easy solution, we need to look beyond that.

You might still very much disagree with my world view, but I am really not your guy here.

@RealTurner - you're confusing her arc with Barry's.

Spoilers:

Her arc is that she needs to learn humanity is worth protecting. That arc was completed when she made the choice to fight zod at the end.

@TheHumanSpider2 - They did. In fact, she really didn't stand a chance against Zodd. Died really easily and didn't make much differece in the final battle. I guess she needed more training rather than being in a Russian blacksite for all her time on Earth.

@Matchesz - one thing to bear in mind with this though, Cavill's superman was what around 30ish? so that's 3 decades of soaking in the sun's radiation, years of feeling out various abilities etc, whilst Kara may have been able to adjust to the atmosphere, if she'd been kept in the ball with what looked like red sunlight to dampen her powers, then she wouldn't have had that same practice and familiarisation, so it's less surprising that she lost to a seasoned warrior like Zod.

Sasha Calle was the second best thing about this movie, after Keaton.

With what little screen time she had, she was really good. Cool, iconic, she did the Burtonverse proud.

I would love to have her back as the Woman of Tomorrow.

@UniqNo - yeah for sure it is better than that. But not yet sure if this will be good. Same with OP. I dont trust Netflix with anything. Most good shows from there for me are not Netflix productions
