THE FLASH's International Trailer May Have Inadvertently Spoiled A Big Dark Flash Twist

Spoilers leaking from last night's screening of The Flash is inevitable, but Warner Bros. themselves appears to have ruined one of the movie's biggest twists thanks to some poor editing in a recent trailer.

The first screening for The Flash took place last night and we're expecting spoilers to begin doing the rounds online imminently. After all, an awful lot of people got to watch the movie at CinemaCon, and at least one of them is bound to spill the beans on some of its biggest surprises.

However, Warner Bros. themselves may have just ruined a major twist.

We've known for a while now Dark Flash will be The Flash's villain - he's been hidden in trailers and TV spots but not merchandise - though there's no word on who or what he is. However, some poor editing in the recently released Japanese trailer appears to confirm that a different version of Barry Allen is beneath his mask!

As you can see, the studio seemingly failed to edit out part of Dark Flash's costume, similar to what happened when The Lizard was attacked by an invisible foe in one of Spider-Man: No Way Home's international teasers (we'd later learn it was Andrew Garfield's web-slinger).

Check out the comparison shots below and let us know what you think in the comments section.

Worlds collide in The Flash when Barry uses his superpowers to travel back in time in order to change the events of the past. But when his attempt to save his family inadvertently alters the future, Barry becomes trapped in a reality in which General Zod has returned, threatening annihilation, and there are no Super Heroes to turn to.

That is, unless Barry can coax a very different Batman out of retirement and rescue an imprisoned Kryptonian...albeit not the one he's looking for. Ultimately, to save the world that he is in and return to the future that he knows, Barry's only hope is to race for his life. But will making the ultimate sacrifice be enough to reset the universe?

The movie stars Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, Ron Livingston, Maribel Verdu, Kiersey Clemons, Antje Traue, and Michael Keaton.

The Flash races into theaters on June 16.

I mean, I'm not sure who this is a twist for? Every evil speedster has been a variant of Barry.

Hasn't an evil version of Barry as Dark Flash been common knowledge for months now?

That's not Dark Flash, that's Groomer Flash.

I don’t like two Ezra Millers in the movie, but alternate Barry being the villain really does reinforce the theme that you must accept the past rather than dwelling on it.

@mountainman - or they just used the common superhero trope of the villain being a polar opposite of the hero.

@WruceBayne - That they did. But that would be true even if another person was Dark Flash.

You mean we weren't supposed to know that was Dark Flash in the main trailer?

He's yelling "Nobody dies!" antagonistically. I even said as much in the trailer article. (except I mistakenly thought it was 2023 Barry, because I thought it made more sense since he caused the Flashpoint in the first place, but the guy's got longer hair so it's obviously 2013 Barry).

@ObserverIO - I've been thinking for quite a while now 2013 Barry was gonna end up as Dark Flash. Mostly because I think three Barry's is too much
