Warner Bros. Has Reportedly "Hit Pause" On All Future Projects Involving THE FLASH Star Ezra Miller

It seems Ezra Miller's recent brush with the law has finally prompted Warner Bros. to take action.

According to a report by Rolling Stone, Warner Bros. and DC executives held an emergency impromptu meeting on March 30 to discuss the The Flash actor's future on the heels of their arrest for disorderly conduct and harassment. Apparently, a decision was made to "hit pause on any future projects involving Miller including possible appearances in the DC Cinematic Universe."

Last week, Miller was arrested after a drunken altercation with several patrons in a bar in Hawaii (it seems they didn't like them singing karaoke in their presence), and the situation was only escalated when a restraining order was filed after they (allegedly) threatened and stole from a couple they'd been staying with in Hilo - after they bailed them out of jail!

WB recently pushed the Andrés Muschietti-helmed The Flash movie back from Nov. 4, 2022 to June 23, 2023, and the real reason for the lengthy delay may now be clear. Rolling Stone adds that the production was "fraught with drama," and while there was no "yelling or violent outburst," Miller was said to have “frequent meltdowns” during the shoot. Insiders described Miller as “losing it.” “Ezra would get a thought in his head and say, ‘I don’t know what I’m doing.'”

The Flash is expected to serve as a reboot (of sorts) for The DCEU, and Miller's Barry Allen would no doubt have been a major focus of the franchise moving forward. This obviously presets a major headache for studio execs, who may decide to recast the character rather than face the PR nightmare are that would undoubtedly result from keeping Miller on in the role.
