Kiersey Clemons is now officially set to reprise the role of Irish West in The Flash.
The Dope actress was originally cast as Barry Allen's love interest in the theatrical cut of Justice League back in 2017, but her scenes were removed when Zack Snyder departed the project and handed over the reigns to Joss Whedon. Clemons will appear in the upcoming "Snyder Cut" of the film on HBO Max, however.
Nobody seemed to be sure whether Clemons would return when The Flash was racing through directors, and a scheduling conflict is reportedly to blame for the uncertainty. However, the actress has now closed her deal, and will join Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster in the highly-anticipated DC Comics adaptation.
It director Andy Muschietti will helm the movie from a screenplay by Christina Hodson. Barbara Muschietti and Michael Disco are producing, with Marianne Jenkins on board as executive producer.
Plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that both Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck will return as their respective takes on Bruce Wayne/Batman, so the story is expected to be at least partially influenced by the Flashpoint comic book arc. We recently found out that The Flash would also introduce Sasha Calle as the DCEU's new Supergirl.
Warner Bros.' first solo outing for the Fastest Man Alive is scheduled to begin production in London next month.
