Though nothing has been confirmed one way or the other (and likely won't be until we see the movie for ourselves), The Flash is expected to retcon certain elements of the original DCEU "SnyderVerse" and take influence from the Flashpoint comic book arc to establish a completely new timeline.
The likes of The Flash, Aquaman and Wonder Woman will reportedly remain as they were (although Ezra Miller's recent troubles could well result in a re-cast down the line) with Michael Keaton taking over as Batman, but what about The Man of Steel?
In a since-deleted Tweet, scooper Viewer Anon claims that The Flash will include a post-credits scene that makes it very clear that Superman does not exist in the new timeline. No context is provided, but we've heard the sequence involves Barry Allen mentioning Superman to Aquaman, and the latter having no clue who he's referring to.
If accurate, this obviously confirms that Henry Cavill will not be reprising his role as Supes anytime soon, with the prevailing theory being that Sasha Calle's Supergirl will take the Man of Steel's place moving forward.
It'd be a shame if Cavill never returned as Superman, but the nature of the DC Multiverse means the door is always open. What do you guys make of this report? Drop us a comment down below.
