Below is Marvel's official press release:

I have been told, by industry insiders, that this is a prequel to Kenneth Branagh's 'Thor', hitting theaters May 6th 2011. My source could be wrong as Marvel's official press release says nothing about that at all. Or it could be that Marvel is keeping the prequel bit under wraps untill we get closer to May 6th of next year? Or it could not be related at all in any way shape or form! You be the judge.

Either way 'Thor: First Thunder #1' is an updated take on Thor's origins and is available September 15, 2010! Check it out!!

I doubt it. I have a hard time imagining that the first meetings between Thor, Cap and Iron man will take place in a comic rather than on film.

this is the only thing i hate about marvel. i hate when they constantly let someone go back and tell an origin story differently. it makes continuity so difficult to maintain!

Nice find jman! :) I'm pretty sure that this is nothing to do with the movie though as there's no way Marvel would show his first meeting with Cap and Iron Man in a prequel that takes place before he even cones to Earth...on the other hand, there's still a chance it could be movie related! We'll have to wait and see I guess!

Nah, this really doesnt look like a movie prequel. Just a thor origin story, and from all ive heard thats all it is. Im getting it anyway though.

@Jman - You didn't ?? That's a relief. You seemed to cool to do something like that bro. Well, it was about Marion playing Catwoman or Talia. And some of us said that Talia should be of Arabic or at least half decent. And I said that when a white person plays a minority role no one says anything, but when a minority plays a white persons role everyone goes ape-sh!t crazy and the article came down quick. I'm part greek so I was just saying what was on my mind and supporting Tankgirl and others that were agreeing with me. That's all. I'm not making a big deal of it. I'm just kind of bothered by some people that are bias about some characters. Thanks for replying bro. Keep up the great articles and love your reviews. ; )
