It wasn't weightlifting that wore out Chris hemsworth as he bulked up big time to star in Thor. The actor, 27, says non stop food consumption was the key to his 20 lbs. Weight gain. Hemsworth: I feel as if I've been busy, but all I've been doing is eating all day hemsworth tells men's health in it's may issue. Hemsworth: Eating when you're not hungry and taking in that amount of food is exhausting. He continues: I ask myself, why am I eating this chicken? For protein. Why am I eating this broccoli? For vitamins and fiber. Why am I eating this ho ho? And overeating wasn't the only lifestyle change for the Aussie actor as he prepared for his action flick, which is due in theaters may 6. Hemsworth: it wasn't until Thor that I started lifting weights, he says. It was all pretty new to me.

Good routine man! I'm a personal trainer and what you say about protein and water is awesome. My advice is drink about half your body weight in ounces of water daily. Ex: 180lbs = 90 ounces of water a day or more. Protein is pretty much a gram of protein per pound of body weight.

Oh and I see you're taking Superpump max. Pre workout drinks are key for me but that always upset my stomach. If you want a cheaper substitute that works great I recommend Jack3d. It's what I take and it rocks.

What style workout is a huge factor in what type of build you're going for as well. Eating a lot is good if you want to build the mass (a long with heavy weight, lower reps). I was pretty small (about 140) and I did a similar workout to Arminies and I've put on an insane amout of muscle weight and I'm 165. It's important to nearly cut almost all of your cardio out if you are lean to begin with. Ingesting over 35 grams of protein within an hour or so is a waste because your body has a limit to what it can handle at a time...also it helps to take in some dextrose in your post meal because simple sugars help push the protein to your muscles. Also jack3d is awesome. That's all.

Oh, this is my first post on the site! Glad to be a part of it now!

Personally when I started gyming back in my younger day I used a Shawn Ray workout which focused on compound exercises.

Bench press, Shoulder/Military Press, Squats, Deadlifts, Bent over row, Barbell Curls, Concentration Curls, Tricep Dip. Ascending weight heavy sets of 12, 10, 10, 8. Hit it three times a week and hit it hard.

Worked for me at the time, and yes you do have to increase your food intake.

Muscle mass weighs more than fat. He must have been pretty big already. Good luck to Cavill's Superman.

Is lame as sounds if you don't have access to a gym then P90X is a very solid program to follow.

Arminies has it down and doing it the right way! I do the same thing and have been for sometime! I do a full body workout every other day and have found that it works for me. Also, no soda or alcohol. Plenty of protein and you'll get THOR strong!
