Idris Elba On What Character His DARK TOWER Costar Matthew McConaughey Could Play In The THOR Universe
Matthew McConaughey has had his name floated around for a couple of superhero projects, but nothing has came to fruition. His Dark Tower costar, Idris Elba, has an idea to bring him into the world of Thor.
Way back when, Matthew McConaughey was rumored to be up for the role of Ego The Living Planet in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2. The role eventually went to Kurt Russell, and McConaughey went on to start his own franchise, Dark Tower.
McConaughey passing on the role hasn't stopped Idris Elba from trying to figure out a way to get him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Speaking to MTV, Elba, who will be back as Heimdall in Thor: Ragnarok was asked if there was still a place McConaughey in the Mavel Universe. "There's a couple of versions, he could be Thor's dad," said Elba.
When pressed for a little bit of clarification, because Sir Anthony Hopkins already has the role, Elba said, "Play a young version of him. Smash it."
