Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, "Thor," which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

With an all star cast which includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Thor is out now in the UK and will be released shortly after in the US on May 6, later this year!

soforizo Yeah the trailers pretty much say that the Asgardian Warriors come to Earth. But I had no phucking idea that the Destroyer could contort his body in all types of sick fluid ways. That's something I should have learned from seeing the movie. Just like the pet store Horse thing. Damn the internet I say!

Just saw Thor yesterday genuinely the Funniest comic book film ever Made !
Way better than i expected it to be, was only really interested in thor when he’s with the avengers so I didnt have high expectations but the action and CGI blew me away
The acting was solid i Hope Loki is in Avengers he was really actually pretty cool
Ending was kinda ......meh ....bit disappointing ending the way all these recent marvel films do

Hawkeyes cameo was SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET

Just to see renner have a bow and arrow and Aim Down His Sights was enough to get me Hyped 4 next summer
Easily The Best scene...... it was good to see his outfit and they didnt do that whole purple mask Bs it wouldn’t have looked right

Not on the level of X2 Iron Man Dark Knight but still Awesome

affraid not,i don't think any cbm has deserved 5/5 thats a perfect movie.

if it featured.

1.balder the brave
2.the enchantress
3.hela
4.heimdall (white, haven't got a problem with him being black but his white in the comics)
5.taller frost giants, don't get me wrong the frost giants are awesome but they're not the same size as in the comics.

i think i would given it 5/5

I saw this yesterday.

Overall, very good film. All involved have to be commended for a really well done and enjoyable movie. Never boring, and very riveting. I was halfway through the movie when I realised that I had a drink, so captivated was I by what was onscreen! As for a breakdown:

PLOT: 10/10 Excellent. Very intelligently written and ties in the MCU and Norse mythology brilliantly.

STORY: 9/10 Very well done. All criticisms about Thor's arc being too fast is utter garbage! It's perfect! All criticisms about the romance between Thor and Jane is utter crap! It's obvious from when they first meet it's one those 'at first sight' chemistry click and bondings. All those criticise must have never had one in their life which is sad.

ACTING: 11/10 Seriously. Everybody is spot on. Chris Hemsworth is very good as Thor and owns the role. His emotional range is suberb. Anthony Hopkins is great as usual. Natalie Portman is very good in this role. Idris Elba as Heimdall is magnificent; racist and other criticisers need to eat humble pie until they vomit! But while Hemsworth is really and truly the star of this show, it's Tom Hiddleston as Loki who is the greatest acting feat!!! A truly brilliant performance.

CHARACTERISATIONS: 10/10 Thor here is different from the comics and cartoons as he is a far more human character; AND THAT'S A GOOD THING. It will make him much more relatable to the GA. Everybody else is excellent as well. Particular standouts for me are:
- Heimdall: Utter badass!!!
- Sif: A true warrior!
- Loki: a brilliant 3-dimensional villain!
- Agent Coulson: an intelligent agent.

PACING: 7/10 A little too fast for my tastes; I needed more slower scenes for some breathing room. I freely admit that this is a personal taste thing and the pacing may be fine for others.

ACTION: 7/10 The latter two sequences needed more umph. In particular the final fight needed some more length and epicness.

COMEDY: 10/10 Everything that was supposed to be funny was VERY FUNNY and not forced or out of place.

CINEMATOGRAPHY: 8/10 Well done.

VFX: 9.5/10 Brilliant!

OVERALL: 8.5/10 Loved it. Will see it at least 2 more times in theatres and I cannot wait to get the blu-ray DVD to see all the deleted scenes.

To those that have not seen it do not go in expecting a 10/10 movie or you may be let down. I can see this movie ranging from 6/10 to 10/10 depending on your particular tastes. Just go in expecting a good movie and see how it does for you.

eh... I like it... but I don't. it's cool scene, But the Destroyer is supposed to be totally impregnable. Like she should not be able to penetrate the armor at all.

The only way to defeat Destroyer is by tricking whoever is using it to leave the armor or stop using it.
Or find a magic user to shut it down that way but you would need someone that is Dr Strange level or higher to do it.

@Nephillim

I don't think her character was wasted. Considering that this is an origin story, Brannagh did a good job of introducing her in a way that audiences will know enough going into a sequel. It's then that her character can be explored more deeply as well as her romance with Thor.
