Looks like he'd make a good Absorbing Man.
EvilEmperor25
EvilEmperor25 - 12/12/2009, 2:51 PM
Absorbing Man probably wouldn't make it well in this film. Of the regular cast of characters in the Thor universe, the Executioner seems more likely.

Executioner [frick]ING A!!!

Lets just hope it ain't more IMDB bullsh1t though hope it turns out fact!

@LEEE777 Thats the point of the other two resources. I don't think someone would post a fake Myspace or official Website on an unknown actor.

I wouldn't bet against The Absorbing Man at all. They are going to have a full movie depicting Loki and Frost gaints as the Asgardian villains. The whole Skurge (the Exicutioner) story line would make for an epic in and of itself. Once he comes to Earth he will need an Earthbound enemy, and Creel and Thor go back a long, long way.

I also remember hearing months ago that there would be a surprise Earthbound villain.

@Kes Thanks. I wanted to nominate some folks myself, but I was busy the day MultiPurposePoni posted them.

Looks like Absorbing Man, maybe to set up for a sequel? Or the Avengers???
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/12/2009, 5:18 PM
I would lay money on him playing Crusher.

MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 12/12/2009, 5:29 PM
Nah, Id say if this dude is in it will be a role that requires very little to no dialog. He's the go to guy for weird looking horror movie killers and such but he very rarely speaks in movies.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/12/2009, 5:37 PM
Ror: It wouldn't be the first time I've lost money. He sure looks perfect for the part.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 12/12/2009, 5:47 PM
Isn't Crusher the one with the big Spanner? Hey, he could be anyone, but I just doubt the wrecking Crew will be in the movie.
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/12/2009, 6:01 PM
Ror: No, Crusher Creel( the Absorbing Man) came allong long before the wrecking crew.

I believe your thinking of The Wrecker

The Absorbing Man has gone toe to toe with Thor, The Hulk, and The Avengers on numerous occasions. He's a bonified badass, and he was also given his powers by Loki.

shiftysharp - 12/12/2009, 6:01 PM
he seems to do a lot of motion capture acting for video games. it could be a case of him being a/the frost giants but hey hes a freaky looking guy and as you have mentioned there is a few chars he could easily play convincingly
Bamf7
Bamf7 - 12/12/2009, 6:02 PM
Well, it's certainly possible he could play the Wrecker...considering he got his powers because of Loki in the first place. I just hope this movie doesn't become to busy with characters...it's kind of seeming like a lot for a first movie.

Still excited for it though!
DCMarvelFreshman
DCMarvelFreshman - 12/12/2009, 6:14 PM
It seems like the wrecking crew would be kinde easy for a live action film.

Also they really need to get Derek Mears from Friday the 13th (2009) in this film. he would make a good Executioner.

Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/12/2009, 6:17 PM
Crusher Creel IS NOT in The Wrecking Crew.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 12/12/2009, 6:18 PM
Oh yeah, I always mix him up with the dude from the Wrecking Crew cos of the ball and chain he carries. Nick Nolte played a version of The Absorbing Man in Hulk!
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/12/2009, 6:24 PM
Thats right, he did, a completely screwed up version, but a version none the less.

Yeah, I think the ball and chain wrecking Crew members name is Thunderball.
Ryden
Ryden - 12/12/2009, 6:32 PM
According to some sites he's been in a few shakespearean plays, chances are Brannagh saw him and loved him, maybe thought he'd make a good villain.
DDD
DDD - 12/12/2009, 6:32 PM
I believe it'll probably be SKURGE, The Executioner!

The EXECUTIONER is in the MASTERS OF EVIL. In the 6th
issue of Avengers, they were the villains when they
brought in Cap America to the Avengers to help fight
them! That would be fitting for the 1st Avengers movie
not ABSORBING MAN.

First LOKI using THE HULK (in the beginning of the
Avengers), then THE MASTERS OF EVIL.

MASTERS OF EVIL:
BARON ZEMO (HEINRICH)
ENCHANTRESS
EXECUTIONER
RADIOACTIVE MAN
THE BLACK KNIGHT (EVIL NATHAN GARRETT ONE)
Hawksblueyes
Hawksblueyes - 12/12/2009, 6:40 PM
Either one would work well DDD. The only reason I'm thinking Crusher, is that I don't remember where, But I do remember hearing that there was going to be a surprise mortal villain on Earth. And Loki did give Crusher his power to defeat Thor on Earth.

This would also work well seeing as how once Thor defeats him, Loki would need to look for someone even more powerfull(The Hulk) to send against Thor. That would set up The Avengers nicely.

Hawksblueyes - 12/12/2009, 6:50 PM
Marvel also cast Troy Brenna today. He's listed as playing Jane Fosters ex boyfriend. Problem is, he's 6'8 and huge, he would be perfect for Skurge. Check him out, I don't see him as an ex boyfriend at his size.

DCMarvelFreshman
DCMarvelFreshman - 12/12/2009, 7:01 PM
Troy Brenna was added on IMDB last month. That dude has to have a bigger role being way taller than the lead actor.
Ryden
Ryden - 12/12/2009, 7:14 PM
@MarvelFreshman- NEVER tryust IMDB, they casted Jensen Ackles as Cap despite the fact they haven't got anyone yet.

Tough one to call as to who he is playing but I'm gonna go with Skurge the Executioner. Always liked him and Ulik in the Thor comics.
DDD
DDD - 12/13/2009, 12:18 AM
Yeah, Troy is a big guy! He usually stands in as
stuntman for Tyler Mane. He would make a great EXECUTIONER
with his hair shaved.

So it looks like Troy for EXECUTIONER and Joseph
Gatt for THE ABSORBING ABSORBING MAN. That would
be visually exciting!

Yeehaw! Bring on the Mighty THOR!
