Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

In addition to “Thor: The Dark World”, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on more iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel (title TBA) on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

Loki is there as well... Maybe it'll be Thor and Loki vs Malekith and the Elves? I would simply love to see that... Still, looking brilliant. So excited for this movie!

I really hope Asgard looks the same it did in the first flick, all this grounded in reality isn't looking much like Thor flick, but more like a Game of Thrones flick, which is a good show but I don't want a Thor movie like that, hopefully when given the cgi treatment this movie will have more of an epic look and not like a cable TV series.

@Cosmic1 - I'm with you on the Asgard part I still want it to be golden and shiny like it was in the first one, but other then that I like how everything else is turning out.

Seriously, LOKI needs at least one movie on his own. While he's still perfect for the character.

So Loki will either be back in the villain place, probably behind the scenes, pulling all the strings... or he could come out of nowhere, save Thor, and they work together to fight and win... only for Loki to leave him at the end, still obviously tortured between being good and evil... God I hope its the second one.

I don't know if it's the picture quality, but Tom Hiddleston has much shorter hair and it looks red?

@xRelentlessx I agree, Natalie Portman is actually a great actress, but Jane Foster was just written badly in Thor.

I hope her character is written better and developed more in Thor:TDW.

The one thing I really want to know is what is Natalie Portman's demeanor on set? Is she friendly and smiling or is she sulking and petulant because Patty Jenkins is not directing this movie.

well, at least if that's really a wig, it doesn't look as horrible as Jessica Alba's blonde head rag in those FF flicks.

I can't wait to see how Loki plays into this movie. Not only is he my favorite character of all these Marvel movies, he's the best actor. That scene in Thor where he finds out his parentage is great acting.

I didn't even like the character Thor before the first movie. Now the movie Thor is my favorite out of all the Marvel movies.
