They should the from the 13th Warrior that played Buliwyf, Vladimir Kulich, to play Thor. That dude would look perfect.

You know what's truly ironic is that if I could have just a 10 minute chat with Branagh, I could tell him everything he needs to know to make this thing a HIT. That's it. Just 10 minutes. But of course that's impossible.

Wow, guess that glass is half empty huh? The major difference between Wolverine and Thor will be FOX. Thor is being made by Marvel and they've done a pretty good job so far...........so have some faith.

Its funny how in the comics, Thor is 6'10 and 325 pounds. He may be more than that. Why would they talk to Channing Tatum??? Hes another teenie bopper fag.

Juggernaut: You obviously haven't read any of the previous threads about Branagh, and the incredible amount of support that Marvel, and Joe Quesada in particular have given him.

Here's a little bit from Sid Ganis, the previous President of the Academy of Motion Pictures, and liason to Marvel Studios:

Sid Ganis: I have to start off by telling you that when I was the head of Paramount, I gave him his very first movie to direct—the very first. He made a great movie in "Dead Again." So my thoughts about Kenneth are very positive. He's had a movie career, stage career and acting career—in both movies and on stage and as a director and writer in some cases. I'm very excited for what's about to come from Ken. When I check in with Kevin Feige [President of Marvel Studios] and the guys here, [they tell me] Ken is conceptualizing "Thor" in such a unique way—I think us fan guys—we will be happy with what turns up. I'm excited about Ken, He's great and committed to "Thor." You have no idea how committed to this he is. There's nothing else on his mind, of course not, it's a huge job. But he's not acting in other movies, or thinking about directing other movies after "Thor." His whole brain and being is with "Thor."

Quesada himself stated in a recent MyCupoJoe blog that he was surprised how much Branagh knew about the character, and how much enthusiasm Branagh had for the story. I for one am extremely excited, and cannot wait to see what is in store!

As for the casting, I hope to GOD he takes his sweet @$$ time, and casts this role and all of the following VERY CAREFULLY!!!

Dude I hate to be a party pooper but every time they get started on one of these they say lots of stuff like that. Everybodies patting each other on the back, and making all this positive sounding noise, and spamming about how great everything is and then we get to the theater and it's a whole different story.
I remember Mark Steven Johnson said that he was a "huge Daredevil fan" and was "working hard to deliver as faithful a rendition as possible". He said that crap to the press even as he was turning a movie about my childhood hero into a cheesy trainwreck.

So anyway thanks for the quote, but trip off this: If there's any one thing Hollywood has proven it's that if there's some way to blow it, then that's exactly what they will do lol

Kenneth Branagh is one of my favorite directors/ actors. And trust me if he is given free rain, this will be straight from the source material. I mean look at all of his Shakespeare movies! His version of Hamlet was the most accurate to the Book EVER, and it was FOUR HOURS! So trust my trust in im, there is no way he will screw this up.

Oh yeah,,, should be an UNKNOWN underated actor!!! (as in good actor). THOR should be as EPIC as LOTR (ofcourse they can't make it as long though pity). I think what would work would be if the last 10 or 20 minutes of THOR should be in our time or the very most a 3rd of the movie!!! ; )

Juggernaut: Although I hate to admit it, you're mostly right. I've seen far too many adaptations to say that there's no merit to what you're saying, but then again, as it has been stated previously, this is a Marvel Studios production, which means that they have a lot more creative control, and with someone like Branagh backing it, I have the utmost faith that we're going to see one HELL of a movie! And thanks for your input.

As for me, I think I'm leaning a little towards Skaarsgard, but that's just my personal taste. ;-)
