THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Critics TV Spot Features Some Fun New Footage From Taika Waititi's Sequel

The review embargo for Thor: Love and Thunder lifted yesterday, and Marvel Studios has now released a critics TV spot featuring some of the praise that's been heaped on Taika Waititi's sequel.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theatres in most major territories over the next couple of days, and Marvel Studios is now hyping-up Taika Waititi's Ragnarok follow-up with a critics TV spot highlighting some of the praise that's been heaped on the movie since the review embargo lifted on Tuesday morning.

Social media reactions to the Odinson's latest solo adventure were very positive, but, as is so often the case, the reviews tell a slightly different story. The critical consensus is far from negative, but currently sitting at 70% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film is one of the lower-rated Marvel Studios releases.

Regardless, a RT score shouldn't dissuade you from checking the movie out, as it's well worth seeing.

The teaser features quite a bit of new footage, mainly focusing on the movie's more comedic moments (of which there are many).

Thor: Love and Thunder finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters July 8, 2022.

I’ve enjoyed movies that most critics and people on here have hated. I’m sure I’ll enjoy this. If not, whatever. Life goes on.

Still not sure how I feel about the movie, saw it last night. It was twice as goofy as Ragnarok but not half as funny unfortunately. Parts of it I really loved. But it’s a wierd flick. This movie is Thor’s full on transition from original Thor into the version of the character from those Daryl the roommate skits. I don’t have a problem with that but the movie shouldve been funnier if thats what theyre going for…

@connorblaze - yeah, I've felt the same. IMO the problem wasnt The amount of jokes but the quality. Some jokes did not worked, but maybe another hoje could have.

Watched The film, not a great movie at All bit not a trainwreck. 7.5/10. If The movie jade 15+ minutes in the first Arc and had showed more than told it would've made a better film and maybe had fixed the pacing of The film.
