THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Posters By Artist Matt Ferguson Are The Most Electrifying Efforts Yet

The latest Thor: Love and Thunder posters come our way from artist Matt Ferguson, and they're absolutely electrifying! We also have a new featurette exploring Taika Waititi's impact on the Thor franchise.

It feels like we only just watched Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on the big screen, but Thor: Love and Thunder is already almost here.

Reviews for the movie have found their way online, and while they're not quite as glowing as those we saw for Thor: Ragnarok back in 2017, it sounds like this will be a must-see in theaters this weekend. Now, acclaimed artist Matt Ferguson has shared a first look at his jaw-dropping poster for the blockbuster, and we'd argue that it's the best one yet.

Putting the spotlight on the God of Thunder and The Mighty Thor, characters like Korg and Valkyrie are also featured, strongly hinting at their importance to this movie. A second poster has also been revealed, and while a little more simple, it's every bit as eye-catching.

During a recent interview with Fandango, Chris Hemsworth was asked where Thor: Love and Thunder fits into the wider MCU. "Endgame [ended] with Thor giving the Kingship to Valkyrie on Earth, and Thor was at a pretty emotionally complex place at the time," the actor says. "He was a little out of shape, which represented his emotional complexity."

"He went off on a journey of self-discovery with the Guardians of the Galaxy, and that's kind of where we pick up." So, as suspected, it takes place a little while after Avengers: Endgame, but before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Whether the hunt for Gamora will be referenced in any way remains to be seen, as we find it hard to imagine Star-Lord isn't keen to find her.

Check out these newly revealed Thor: Love and Thunder posters (along with another featurette) below:

The movie finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.

No matter the angle, there's just something that looks off about Thor's helmet.

Aside from, I like the posters. Not often floating heads posters impress me.

@bkmeijer1 - I think it's the fact that they turned the bridge of the nose into a half mask. It should have just had a nose guard or not even a nose guard and just the helmet.

@SonOfAGif - I was gonna say how that kinda makes it looks like a bird, but upon ckoser inspection I see there's even a small bird on his forehead. I guess it's a theme then and as such sorta make sense.

Think the guards over his cheeks and that the wings are connected to the part covering his eyes make it feel like a half-mask of sorts too. A mask with seperate embellishments may have looked better.

@bkmeijer1 - thought smaller bird on top of his helmet stood out more than anything to be obvious to see it was first thing I saw maybe I won’t notice it in movie which will make it bette r

@bkmeijer1 - personally my main issue with it was that it was all cgi and not actually there. But I can see people having a problem with the design itself, though it makes sense with the suit itself.

@Origame - making it full CGI is kinda lame indeed. It's just unnecessary, as they easily could make a practical one

@dragon316 - I don't mind it being obvious. Kinda breaks up the sleek design of the helmet, shich I think is nice

@rychlec - George Lucas appreciates the $2.75 you spent to see Howard The Duck in 1986.

So finally we get him wearing a helmet because Portmans character wouldn’t work without it. It it’s still not comic accurate. It’s just crazy how a simple helmet escapes the ability of Hollywood. But judging from the past it’ll be in a single scene and then move on.
