Chris Pratt is currently doing the rounds to promote The Tomorrow War (we'll have more to share with you on the movie soon), and with Thor: Love and Thunder on the horizon, it was inevitable he'd be asked about returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Star-Lord.
When the movie starts, we know that the God of Thunder will still be with the Guardians (Asgardians?) of the Galaxy, though it's expected that they'll soon part ways ahead of Vol. 3.
Talking to Yahoo Movies, Pratt explained that fans can look forward to Peter Quill's rivalry with Thor continuing. "That was definitely something we found while we were doing the Avengers and people seemed to like it. So Taika had a vision for it and I think people are really going to like what we did," the actor teased. "I think people are really gonna like that. And it picks up on that same vein, that same kind of rivalry between the two."
Star-Lord may not be particularly fond of Thor on screen, but Pratt was quick to heap praise on Chris Hemsworth after working with the Australian actor on this next instalment of his solo franchise.
"Hemsworth is great, he’s so good," Pratt enthused. "People are gonna be really astounded when they see what he’s brought, what he and Taika have brought for Thor 4. It’s next-level. [Hemsworth] ratcheted it up to even another level. So I was just in awe of his presence. He is a man-god in real life. It was just cool to be there with him."
It really does sound like we're in store for something special in Thor: Love and Thunder, but it could be a while before we see anything official from this one. Marvel Studios has other movies to promote before the God of Thunder's next adventure, so we're not baking on seeing a trailer until much later this year.
Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Chris Pratt, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Bradley Cooper, Taika Waititi, and Sean Gunn, and is currently set to be released in theaters on May 6, 2022.
