Mark Ruffalo's 'Hulk' Confirmed For THOR: RAGNAROK

We heard the rumor a few days ago, and now it's been confirmed that Mark Ruffalo will bring his Green Goliath to Marvel's third installment in the Thor franchise, which will be helmed by What We Do In The Shadows director, Taika Waititi. More past the jump...

Well, you'll be pleased to hear that JoBlo rumor was true: Mark Ruffalo will return as Bruce Banner and his slightly angrier alter ego in Thor: Ragnarok, which we recently found out would be directed by Taika Waititi (Eagle Vs Shark, What We Do In The Shadows).

Deadline just broke (well, confirmed) the news, though they don't mention any specific details or reveal how the Hulk will factor into the story - but Ruffalo and Chris Hemsworth seem like they have good chemistry, and their characters' interactions have provided some memorable moments in the Avengers movies so this should work out well.

Also starring Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, Anthony Hopkins, Thor: Ragnarok is currently being scripted by Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle and is scheduled to be released in theaters on November 3, 2017.

I mean all people complain about with the Thor films is they are on Earth too much....

So you're gonna spend time in the film on Earth to bring Banner into the film and also give Banner screentime away from Hulk.

As a Hulk fan, I'm excited about more Hulk but I'm just not sure he was needed for Thor 3.........

Why couldn't he be in Daredevil?

cool, but I'm not sure how deadline reporting it confirms it? Marvel saying it would CONFIRM it.

My feelings for this is incredibly mixed.

Guess now I have to pay to go see a Thor film in theaters.

Maybe Thor needs some strong backup and asks Heimdall to bring Hulk. Or Loki brings Hulk for his own purposes..? Either way, they don't need to show more than 5 seconds of Earth for this.

@LEVITIKUZ

Hulk was in a Quinjet at the end of Age of Ultron. It's been said that Quinjets have the capability to undergo space travel.

The film will be directed by Taika Waititi, the New Zealand-born director whose credits include the indie Eagle Vs Shark and last year’s Sundance vampire mockumentary What We Do In The Shadows.

Was this confirmed? I thought it was just rumored?

If so it's good at least someone who was apart of that shitstorm Green Lantern movie has a good career going.

Taika was this guy:

This movie being about Thor and highlighting the greatness of Thor can coexist with the appearance of the Hulk. This is what I'm hoping for. Heck, what if we finally get to see a true Hulk vs Thor battle, and Thor wins?

Might be a hot take, but if this goes wrong, the impact will be incredibly strong.

@Superherodude1

Daredevil is Hulk's lawyer and defense Hulk in a case where Banner is being blackmailed for the murder of numerous people.

IT COULD WORK

@Superior

But does the Quinjet have anything against the icing problem?

I totally get why some wouldn't want Hulk in there in a major role too.

@LEVITIKUZ I love the Taika hire. Might be the oddball pick they need after taking the "obvious" pick in Alan Taylor (He's from Game of Thrones, THIS WILL BE GREAT!).

@Superior Yeah, the future of the MCU is ridign on it since this is the "gamechanger" a la The Winter Soldier and precursor to Infinity War.

It's mystifying how somebody who works for Deadline is not aware that Marvel does not have the distribution rights to a Hulk movie, and unlike Spiderman, they aren't going to deal with another studio (Universal) just to have a stand alone Hulk movie again.

Anyway, I'm in the camp who likes this idea. Hulk is a monster that fits in perfectly with the monsters that Thor encounters on his adventures. Hopefully this film stays cosmic/fantastic and away from Earth. It can be a "meanwhile" story of what these two were up to during Civil War.

@Superherodude1

Announce a Phrase 3 film titled DAREDEVIL & HULK.

Daredevil gets a show and a movie.

@Reasonnnn

Yea I mean I'm not big on Thor or really care for him but I think Tailka will do great.
