Promotional artwork for Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok has surfaced online, as we're getting closer to the movie's theatrical release. The images feature villainous Hela, The Goddess Of Death, the character portraits of Thor, Loki and Hulk, plus two wonderful, Kirby-esque posters of the main cast (featuring the Commodore, Valkyrie's spaceship on Sakaar).

The Aussie department of Marvel Studios' marketing has also released a brand new poster which reminds the audience about the upcoming biggest fight in the universe between Chris Hemsworth's God Of Thunder, Champion Of Asgard and Mark Ruffalo's Green Monster. You can check it out below:

Blanchett as Hella is honestly one of the things that has me most hyped for this movie. She’s great.

PS: I saw IT yesterday, f*cking great movie. well directed, well acted, well paced, creative, great soundtrack and sound design, great coming-of-age story and Pennywise is one creepy asshole.

For all the reservations regarding MCU villains they are awfully close to 3/3 this year.

Man, I don't know if this movie is going to live up to the hype or not, or if it will be financially as successful as it deserves, but it really is the most unrelentingly comicbooky marketing I think I've ever seen. This is a no-holds-barred celebration of the weird and wacky creativity of the medium.

Makes me feel young again.

All of those posters are gorgeous. It's great to see Marvel Studios' promotional team finally embrace the true comic book source material by commissioning actual artwork for its movie posters. Hopefully, most of Infinity War's posters will also be created by artists, like the Ryan Meinarding banner from SDCC.

@Skrull - Marvel should hire more comicbook artists for their movie posters, those Captain America posters by Paolo Rivera are incredible, and add to that B-movie feel these films have.

@SlowKnife - I love those posters and I marvel at the talent that created them, but I don't think it would appeal to people as broadly as the standard studio posters do.

I'm not saying the marketing people are always right, but people understand the common language and imagery. "Lone person standing in a nebulous background" is heroic. Okay, it's a hero-movie.

Deadpool got a long way by subverting that stuff, but Deadpool was a special kind of movie that could.

I would have loved for Marvel to have had Drew Struzan painting their official posters from the beginning and established a consistent aesthetic from the beginning, but they didn't. (Also, they put out a lot of poster variations, so it wouldn't have been feasible.)
