Cue the music.

Thor: Ragnarok has shattered yesterday's conservative projection and has officially launched with a mighty $121 million domestic, making it the biggest opening weekend for a Thor movie ever, the ninth-biggest opening weekend for a Marvel Studios film, and the fourth-highest domestic opening weekend of the year. Its #1 opening also makes it the 17th straight top debut for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Following its $46.82 million Friday, Ragnarok pulled in a strong $44.36 million on Saturday and is projected to take in an estimated $29.83 million on Sunday - a figure that could actually go up before all is said and done.

Internationally, the Chris Hemsworth-starrer continued to dominate with a thunderous $151.4 million, including a phenomenal $55.6 million from China and a stellar $25.4 million from IMAX theaters. Its overseas total currently stands at just around $306 million, which brings its worldwide cume to a massive $427 million.

On its current track, the Taika Waititi-helmed blockbuster should surpass the lifetime collection of the original Thor ($449.3M) in the next day or so and has a strong shot at overtaking Thor: The Dark World ($644.5M) by the end of its second weekend.

So, what do you guys think? How many times have you experienced Ragnarok? Sound off with your thoughts below!

In Marvel Studios' "Thor: Ragnarok," Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok - the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization - at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger - the Incredible Hulk!

We live in a world where Thor can open higher than Spider-man.

God Bless the MCU.

@ShellHead - Blame Sony for that. It's previous Spiderman films were awful and left a bad taste in people's mouths. This is why Marvel Studios needed Iron Man as the poster boy to secure a solid Worldwide total.
