Will Samuel L. Jackson Return As 'Nick Fury' In THOR: RAGNAROK?

After missing out on Civil War, it sounds like Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury might be following Mark Ruffalo’s Incredible Hulk before they return in Avengers: Infinity War. Check it out!

Many fans were pleased a couple months ago when Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Thor: Ragnarok will have “very little” scenes on Earth, or rather Midgard. However, that doesn’t exactly mean the Marvel threequel will exclude our little planet altogether, especially if recent rumors regarding the All-Father Odin’s fate are to believe. Now comes word of at least one Earthbound character who could make an appearance.

According to the Gold Coast Bulletin newspaper, which serves the east coast region of Australia where Thor: Ragnarok will be shooting primarily, pre-production will hit full-swing this week, and Samuel L. Jackson has been “tipped” to return as Nick Fury in the 2017 flick.  Apparently, the veteran actor will take part in scenes shot at the Village Roadshow Studios in Queensland, Australia, where he and Loki, Tom Hiddleston, just filmed Kong: Skull Island.

We last saw Nick Fury at the new Avengers Facility in Age of Ultron as he gave Black Widow the lowdown on the Incredible Hulk’s unknown whereabouts. So, that’s the only indication of how he might factor into Ragnarok (if at all), which’ll see Chris Hemsworth’s Son of Odin reunite with Mark Ruffalo’s Jade Giant, plus battle Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief and Cate Blanchett’s potential Goddess of Death, Hela. However, if true, the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director wouldn’t be totally out-of-place given he appeared in the first Thor movie during the end-credits scene, albeit it was to set up The Avengers. Furthermore, Samuel L. Jackson has only two movies left of his nine-picture contract with Marvel Studios, and, surprisingly, the upcoming Captain America: Civil War is not one of them. So, what do you think?

Directed by Taika Waititi from a screenplay written by Christopher Yost, Craig Kyle, and Stephany Folsom, Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Mark Ruffalo, Jaimie Alexander, and Cate Blanchett, with others to be announced, and the movie will reportedly start principal photography in June with a release date on November 3, 2017.
