THOR: Tales of Asgard Preview

THOR: Tales of Asgard Preview

See the first few minutes of Marvel's next animated feature THOR: Tales of Asgard. It was an extra bonus in the Planet Hulk DVD. Looks like they're continuing on with the teenage theme. Wonderful. Let's all go pop some zits.

It does look great. I really think Thor is the proper age in this cartoon - it fits well for a coming of age story. This just got me more excited for the actual movie as well.

@LEEE Iron-Boy does not work and is BS because Tony was never Iron-Man as a kid but Thor has aways been Thor. And I am interested in how he was as kid it could make for some good story telling.

I'm really digging the animation.

I have some questions:
Where is the Mjolnir?
I don't know a lot about Thor's past, but he was friend with Loki?
Why in the new Marvel's series the characters is young(The Spectacular Spiderman, Iron Man Armored Adventures)?
And is just me or this looks like the series 2002 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe?

Animation is cool but Thor's voice acting is awful and I don't really like how they're treating Asgard. It's not Ancient Greece it's the land of the freakin Gods!!!

I have to say I was some what disappointed on the preview after watching it @ home. The story line seems to be pretty good. But the scene in the stable with Kid Sith & Kid Thor the animation looked a little scetchy!

No thanks! I'm tired of Marvel "junior" heros. You had teen X-men, Kid Avengers, Teen Iron Man, Kid Marvel Super Heroes, and now Teen Thor. They are focusing too much time and energy on getting to the child audience.

It takes a lot of time and effort to make these things. IMHO, it would be better spent on the REAL thing. It could still be enjoyed by younger audiences, yet adults would be more likely to be interested as well. They need to start sticking to the source material.

Phinehas

Its obviously a coming-of-age movie that certainly focuses on his development into the man Thor. This is will obviously be different from the childish kiddie cartoons, that has them perpetually young and fighting young versions of the villians or whatever. I don't percieve this as being like the kiddie tv shows. This is building upwards to an adult Thor.

@ Niknik I hear what u are saying, there a lot of kiddy shows. Ironman for one i don't really care for, but they have to learn to adjust. But u realize we had Dragon Ball Z, ThunderCats, Silver Hawks,HeMan etc. that were gear towards our geneeration.

I wonder how long as Asgardian is actually considered a child. The first 1000 years maybe?
Wonderwes
Wonderwes - 2/4/2010, 1:11 PM
Let the kids have one now and again. As far as feature length, there have only been a couple that were young heroes. Yeah, some of the series are for younger audeniences, but aren't they on stations like cartoon network and nick jr.

We get all the live action, and most of the animated features. Let them build another generation of CBM fans.

it looks interesting and i want to see it but here's my MAIN question?
where is Sif's golden hair?
for those of you who do not know, Sif originally had the most beautiful and golden hair of the nine realms.
in a fit of jealousy, Loki sheared it off and replaced it with hair as black as a raven made by the trolls.
i hope they keep that in there but from the looks of this, i would say not.

ASSASSIN666 - 2/4/2010, 5:52 PM
One thing that really pisses me off is that Marvel takes too mother f**king long between releases of the animated films. The animated Thor is not coming out before 2011, what kind off bullshit is that? D.C never puts a long wait on the animated stuff they do
McLovin
McLovin - 2/4/2010, 5:53 PM
I think Phinehas has it right (or at least I hope so). This could make sense if towards the end, it shows him more grown up and actually earning the honor of wielding Mjolnir!!!!
